I suppose suggesting Blackmart app is not against the rules. Saves you from searching around for apps. Works great on mine. If this is against any rules feel free to tell me and I will delete this post.

So you can't get the market to work at allt?

I would install amazon market on here too but it's my daughters tablet and you HAVE to put in your credit card info even to get free apps on amazon market. No way I am letting her have my CC info to buy whatever..lol
I don't understand, is Google market not working at all on your tablet? There is a few cracked versions floating around out there and every one I've tried works (on 3 701 units), don't really give a hoot if the icon is the old "shopping bag" market icon (Not really a big deal). If market is working but is limited you might try "Best Apps Market" sort of a Google Market add on, WAY better than just google market itself, really opens Google's market up to the things it won't show normally. I don't use regular market anymore just Best Apps and/or Slide ME.

(market does have to work for this to work as it is an extension of sorts)

No, it is working. There are just tons of things not showing up, like all of the angry birds games except seasons for some reason. Angry birds space free won't show up but the paid version will. When I log into google play on my pc and that account, it says those apps are not compatable with my device when I click on them. I know I can get apps other places, was just saying it would be ncie for play store to fully work.

Installed best apps market, it's nice but still doesn't solve the problem. When you click on an app to download in it, it takes you to the google play link for that app and of course google play says "this app is not compatable with this device". Same as having google play store . I guess until a workaround is found we will have to continue side loading apps.

I got that "Device not Supported" msg from the market days after I was able to download and did indeed download all the free versions of the Angry Birds games from the market, I really think the market just changed our "not supported" devices to a paid status for certain apps, it also did this with the "Cut The Rope" game, it was there in the market for free one day then gone altogether the next. ???

I'm just not convinced it's a market place compatibility issue as much as it is just a change on Google's part.

I'm not sure what is going on. I will say I can still see all of the apps on the market with my C model that is still running 2.3.4. I can also see them with my rooted HP touchpad with ICS on it, so I am not sure. I am still a noob at all of this so I dunno.

                  Market on the 701i

I found this post on the subject of getting the Android Market (Google Play)

Here is my reply to that post. Bottom line, I have the old Android Market up and running without rooting.

I tried this and was able to install the files, but I kept getting a message that the app has stopped. I tried using the vending.3.1.3 that you provided after trying it with a com.android.vending-3.5.15 that I saw on another post. The both popped up with a message that they have stopped, is this the ICS vesion of force close? After loading all of the files you provided I also noticed that my Home button quit working. After fumbling around and trying different combinations I gave up and did a Factory Reset. I then went to their Online Help on the Polaroid widget on the tablet and it said that you could install apps using the app apkinstaller which I didn't have on my device. I went to the Amazon store and downloaded Easy Installer. I opened it and it showed me all of the APK files I had transferred to the device. I tried the 3.5.15 first and after the install I got the same stopped message. I uninstalled the Play Store and tried again with your 3.1.3 file and I now have the Market. It works! I first downloaded Adobe Flash Player and it is functioning. I also successully downloaded the 3D Digital Weather Widget and it is now on my home screen showing me the time and local weather info. I also loaded G-mail. I think I'm good to go although I wonder if my apps will get updates since I'm not a fully functional Google device. Are there other pieces I might be missing to get me on Googles radar?
