Looking for info from your tablets, and possibly a volunteer

First, if there are any people willing to get there feet wet into working with android and happent to have just gotten a 701i Shawn Busker is looking for you. We need someone willing to hook it up and pull the stock images off. Shawn will talk you through it. Idealy we want it as close to right out of the box as we can get it. PM ShawnBusker if you are interested.

Now We have been noticing that there are possibly some different configurations popping up out there and wanted to try and get a feel for this. I have seen one report of someone missing the Video out jack. The standard options for I/O on these typically goes headphone, MicroSD card, Mini USB, and Video out if you have something else let us know.

The next thing I am curious about is which ROM you are using. You can find this by accessing settings and look at the "about device" button all the way at the bottom on the stock Gingerbread
    My settings show Model number PMID701C, Android Version 2.3.4, Baseband version V2.0.5, Kernel version 2.6.36-android+lgm@xserver #74, Build number mid-eng 2.3.4GRJ22 eng.lgm.20120111.121835 test-keys

My other one currently has the Onda V5 ICS on it (trying to get it flipped back over, but time has been sparse this last week) for it it is Model number Onda Mid, Android Version 4.0.3 Baseband Version 1.1 Kernel version 3.0.8+ lgm@WServer #21, Build number mid-eng 4.0.3 IML74K 20120406 test-keys

If yours are like this let us know. If you have gone ahead and flashed the Onda ICS firmwares let us know which one worked on your tablet (for most it seems the V1 is the only one that is fully functional but at least one has needed the V5). This kind of information could be needed as we progress into making custom ROM's

    Thanks folks,
    Enjoy your tablet

I'm the one who got the missing video out jack I version and I took it back and traded for a unit in their case that still had the jack and 4.0.
I have already rooted mine and added things so I don't think mine is a good candidate now as the originally loaded freebee pictures have been erased as they aren't on it anymore. I haven't tried any other roms yet but it is rooted now and has market on it but if I can help without bricking it I'd be more then willing to give things a shot.
Well mine now has a power down issue where it starts to power down then reboots and starts just after the screen goes black. BUT here's my info

    Model
    Polaroid PMID701i

    Android Version
    4.0.3

    Baseband Version
    1.0

    Kernel Version
    3.0.8+
    lgm@WServer #2

    Build Number
    mid-eng 4.0.3 IML74K 20120306 test-keys

You know I've been game since day 1, one of my units is stuck in the viscious Super User vs Root Explorer cycle but the other is pretty plain it's been around the block but is still pretty clean, worst I've done is use RE to get full root acces. Still have the craptastic stock pics etc.

Hit me up I'll do what I can for yall.

          With or Without Video Output

Additional information on different models of the Onda (Polaroid) being sold with and without video jack:

          From

There are actually 3 different versions of the VX610W - you have to check the 3 Chinese characters after "Model VX610W" on the serial number label.

VX610W时尚版 (shishangban) "Fashion Edition" - has 5 point capacitive screen
VX610W豪华版 (haohuaban) "Deluxe Edition" - also has 5 point capacitive screen
VX610W加强版 (jiaqiangban) "Enhanced Edition" - has 2 point resistive screen

If your unit has a white case, it's the one with the 2-point screen - if it has a black case, it could be any of them.

The "Fashion Edition" is a cost reduced model with an A13 CPU rather than the A10 (and consequently clocked at 1GHz) and has no TV-Out. The other specs are the same. As far as I can see, there is no "Basic Edition". Each unit has different firmware.

Well they must have got a few of the "Fashion Edition" models because that sounds exactly like what my first one was. The manual inside even had no mention of a video out jack and no mention of hooking to your TV with the special cable either so it was all like it should have been for a reduced cost version except they put it in the old box that still claimed it had a video out jack. It definitely was 5 point as I could still expand and shrink things by pinching and seemed to work fine other then the jack.
I don't remember what CPU it claimed to have inside but seemed just as fast as the others.
If I would have known I may have got a very rare version I might have hung on to it longer so we could check it out but I was pissed they took away a video jack that I wanted to eventually use.

                  Hello!

I also have a 701i brand new in the box. Haven't even opened it to see if it has a TV out jack on it yet.

I just returned from vacation, and heard from Shawn yesterday. I was going to help Shawn out with a ROM dump of the puppy, but since he has YOURS...

However, I'll hold onto it a few more days to give him a chance to contact me, just in case he still needs me to do a dump of it.
