PiPO Max-M6 Pro 3G - USB External HDD

Okay, I don't know if there's any way to make this happen, but if so, I would be EVER so grateful in knowing HOW to make it happen.

SCENARIO: I can use a USB flash drive with an OTG connector to play movies, etc. Due to the limited internal disk space I don't want to fill up my PiPO with movies, etc., so I put them on a flash drive that I carry around with me when I go places where I know I'm going to be waiting awhile. I purchased an external HDD that is portable, but my PiPO doesn't see it when I plug it in using the USB cable. It's a Passport 2TB.

    The flash is a 128Gb.

QUESTION: Is there any way to make the PiPO recognize the Passport drive?

I had a different tablet through the summer and I was able to get the table to recognize the Passport, which was AWESOME. The problem with that tablet is I think there is something wrong with the gyro sensor - the slightest movement of the tablet and the screen would start spinning and just keep going.. it got to where it would boot upside down almost every time, then switch, then switch back and I wouldn't even be touching it.

So, my guess is that if one tablet can "see" the Passport drive, then maybe there is some way to make my PiPO see it? Maybe?? PLEASE??? LOL

I have a western digital 2.5inches, 1Tb. My m6pro is able to make it working without any problem. I told you just for reference...
    Obviously without any external power!

Do you use external power adapter for HDD? If not, try to.

Here's a link to the one I purchased. There's no external power supply (that I know of or read in the user's manual)

          Ah, I see..
Then try it while tablet's battery fully charged AND tablet's power adapter connected.
Maybe the tablet just can't deliver enough power for HDD to spin up..
If that will not work, then no luck in this combination of tablet and HDD.

I had to use a powered USB hub. That works well

I forgot about this, a good option too.

Of course, compared to previous tablet, which worked "as is", dealing with power adapters isn't so convenient..

Yeah, the voltage on these cheaper tablets isn't stout enough to run hard drives. That's why each one of mine is equipped with a 32g SD card.

yeah, I had a feeling that was the problem - voltage. I do have the 128Gb USB flash, so it's not all THAT bad, but still, compared to a 2TB?? yeah... that would have been nice.. LOL
