Tronsmart t428 - Netflix, Hulu playback issues

    Hi everyone

First of all just want to apologize for being a new user with no posts and nothing to contribute right now and then creating a thread I am just struggling so much and do not have any experience with rooting, flashing etc etc and was wondering if someone can help before I have a $100 dollar paper weight

    I have the Tronsmart t428 Rk3188
    model number
    rk31sdk
    android version
    4.2.2
    kernel version
    3.0.36+
    root@lhh #1
    Thu apr 11
    Build number
    rk31sdk-eng 4.4.4 JDQ39 eng.root.20130411.140611 test - keys

and I got this specifically so I could watch netflix and hulu in my lounge on my tv BUT as you guys are aware it doesnt work on the shipped model.

I have tried the netflix-devicecheck-disabled.apk just hangs
tried the official app it looks awesome, i can browse soon as i click play it just shows all these lines and display goes mental also tried the netflix 1.7.apk just hangs

Hulu tried some of the mods mod2com.huku.plus-2.apk doesnt look great and cant stream, tried landscapemodhuluplus.apk as well also doesnt work, the official app again looks awesome but comes up with an error and wont stream.

Ive been reading through forums and blogs and I see its a common problem but then things get hazy with roots etc etc

Can anyone assist with any of this ?
sorry again for just jumping on and asking a question

What you need to do is install a custom ROM. The stock one is garbage anyway. My recommendation is Finless' current for the T428, v1.5A (link below).

What you'll want to do is download the archive, and extract it. Then, plug in your device in flash mode (look it up). After it is plugged in in flash mode, open windows device manager and install the drivers. To do this, open the "Run" prompt (Windows key + R or type run in seach on windows 7), and type compmgmt.msc and hit enter. Browse to the device manager on the left side of the window, and right-click on your device (it will likely have a yellow triangle on it and stand out) and click on update driver software. Select install driver manually and when it asks, browse to the "drivers" folder in the extracted finless rom folder. The drivers should install, then it's time for the ROM flash tool (exe inside of the Finless ROM folder).

When you get to the ROM flash tool, it will have many items already listed (loader, parameter, misc, kernel, boot, etc). What you will want to do is leave everything alone except for the "Kernel" section. It should say something like: "FinlessROM\kernel720.img" If you have a 720P TV, this is actually fine and you can go ahead and flash. If you have a 1080P TV, simply change the entry to: "FinlessROM\kernel1080.img". After a while it will be done, and all you have to do is plug it in to your tv and you should be good to go!

    Finless ROM v1.5A

P.S. Don't try this on windows 8 or 8.1, it won't let you install the drivers.
