havent found this one yet, usually not hard to get it back, but can be annoying.

Im afraid having wifi on always, would absoutely murder our batteries....

I rekon a way to make the wifi reconnect faster upon wakeup would be better for us to look into.

The app WiFi Buddy from Google Market will also set the unit to maintain connection in wake state.

I've tried wifi buddy and soft locker.. Neither seem to completely fix the problem for me. It still eventually has a wifi problem after sleeping for a while.

I've not found a way to keep wifi on after the display turns off. Eventually the wifi gets hosed. My solution turns wifi off (via airplane mode) but it comes back on every time. A side effect is longer battery life. I unplugged about 14 hours ago. I've been messing around with it all day. The battery stats says I've used it for more than 5 hours. There's still 23% left on the battery.

Here's what I did...

Download and install "Auto Airplane Mode" by DON from the Google Play Store. Launch and untick everything except "Start on boot"

Optional:
Downloaad and install "Spare Parts Plus! (no ads)" from the Google Play Store. Launch to review and/or set the "Wi-fi sleep policy"

I just gave auto airplane mode a try.. It looks like that will solve this problem with the side effect of saving a lot of battery power as well.
It doesn't fix the bug... It just never allows the wifi to actually sleep... Instead it turns it off and on.. Interesting idea, and a great workaround.

I gotta admit..

Not usually a big work around guy, except when you need it to get to an ultamate solution, but with the battery savings this one does have the earmarks of a real solution not just a ducttape one.

After leaving my tablet charging all night, I picked it up this morning and hit the power button, and it came right back up to the wifi. So....I can confirm after several hours of sleep time, using auto airplane mode, the wifi comes right back.
