    NO SUPPORT from Southerntelecom.com/polaroidsupport

Why put a online app on a pad for support if u're not going to respond to the e-mails sent by customers. They say response in 24-48 hrs. Good luck, I bought the 1st PMID701c on 3-16 the 2nd on 3-17 the next day I started sending e-mails & have sent six with no response I even registered shortly after buying them. No HELP literally!!! I had questions about the non-existent Explorer app listed in the manual under Inserting a Micro SD card. U r suppose to be able to access the Ext SD card from this app. I know it can be accessed from file manager but every time I do all it shows is LOST.DIR 0 items| -drw this with a 8GB micro SD card in each of them. Both show the same. Everything is going to the internal TF card. Memory is slowly slipping away, & it shows the ext SD mounted on start-up & in file man. I've installed Flash Player for Android 11.1.102.59 archived ver & have Crackle, TV.com, & other apps all working on both pads, no conflicts. It used 12.85 MB but not complaining I would just like to transfer some of this including apps on to ext. SD. I am also waiting for the complete laymans working copy to root the PMID701c without the rw issues because I am d/l & doing all the test loads on my Pad, gave the other 1 to the kids fat chance of getting it back if I brick mine!!! Lol I am computer literate to a degree used to right code to DOS & try to keep up but seems tech changes by the second these days & u have to be a super brain to keep up I applaud all of u for what's been done & what u r continuing to do that's why I sought u out after NO RESPONSE from Telecom support. Keep up the good work & we appreciate u sharing with the rest of us !!!

The one good thing I can tell you is that with Shawn's stock ROM and the 2 Onda ROM's I found (both sticky notes at the top of this forum), it is nearly impossible to brick. We have had a few times where recovering with live suite didn't go super smoothly, but to the best of my knowledge anyone who has tried to rescue their tablet has been able to do so. The routine (called FEL) for flashing the ROM is built into the CPU so it is tough to not get it into the FEL mode for flashing. The biggest thing I have noticed is you need to make sure the tablet is all the way off when you start the procedure, which in some circumstances has been difficult.

        Hello!

On another thread here, people have posted their experience when they tried (and failed) to get the 701c/701i images because they've locked themselves out. All a call to ST about getting an update because of accidental lockout got them was the runaround. This FAQ was copied verbatim from the models that DO have ROM updates available (PMID700/7200).

As of this date, other than the ROM image created by one of the participants here for the 701c (a 701i ROM image is under development), there are no ROM updates available from ST for ANYONE - under ANY circumstances. Dates for release of these updates keep coming and passing with no ROM images, and I am beginning to understand WHY; they're debugging some issues in the ROMs themselves.

There are those out there who will be upset because I keep saying this, but until these ROMs are released, if anyone develops a problem, the only recourse we have at this time is to return the tablet to its place of purchase.

If you can obtain these updates when no one else can, I'll gladly eat the biggest crow you can find.

          Hello!

The best way to get a response out of them seems to be to call them, via their customer support number. Their response to email requests for assistance has been spotty, and you can hang up doing it through the support section of their website.

Oh, believe me, I called them! To no avail of course.... They simply will not provide the existing firmware to anyone for any reason (they say they don't have it yet). The FAQ is a pure LIE - it says the firmware is available if you lock yourself out, but yet support tells you that it's not availble...

So, even when yu lock yourself out, they tell you that it SHOULD be vailbale by the end of the week.

THen a got a reply today from my email that I sent them the day I got the unit. That email says itll be 2 weeks.

It's al BS - I don't think they have any idea when they will have it....

Never been one to sit long hours waiting & hoping u get a live person that can speak understandable English ,& is tech knowledgable on the subject just to have u're hopes of getting some help on a product u've spent hard earned money on dashed. With so many of these companies once they have u're money from thier product they've already moved on to the next thing . Already spent too many unrecoverable hrs trying, but appreciate u responding with the info.

Rofl. I can get you closer then what they can. I may not have a flashable rom, but I do have a complete dump from my stock 701i and know there are a few out there trying to see what they can cook.
