    My review of the PMID701i

Specs: 7" screen, runs Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), 800x480resolution screen, 512mb RAM, 4gb built in storage (2gb user accessible), microSD slot for more storage. wifi-only for data. Speaker and microphone built in. Headphone jack and charger are the only external connections. (no camera) (I know some people's have the TV output jack on it. The one I bought doesn't have the TV Out.)

It will connect to phones that use ad-hoc wifi for tethering purposes. This is a definite plus for me. Lets me use my phone as a hotspot for it wherever I am.

It doesn't come with Google's Market (Play store, whatever you wanna call it these days) but it is very simple to get it on there with a few downloads and by running a few commands. Amazon's App Store also works on it.

    Apps confirmed working:
    Netflix
    YouTube
DoggCatcher (podcatcher, plays video podcasts like a dream)
    Gmail
    Dropbox
    FourSquare
    Draw Something
    Google Voice (free texting ftw)
GrooVe IP Lite (free VoIP calling ftw)
    Kindle
    GetGlue
Skype (voice calls only, since no camera. haven't tested incoming video, would probably work)
    Angry Birds (all varieties)
    Facebook
    Twitter

    Apps that won't work:
HBO GO (it doesn't show up in the market, and sideloading the APK gives a "not supported" error. I'm still trying to find a workaround for this. I would really like to be able to get HBO GO working on here.)

Overall Pros: Awesome little tablet for the price. It is $99 this week at Big Lots and probably will stay that price until they sell out of them. It does a lot of stuff right, and with the ability to get the google market on there, it will do almost everything I would want a tablet to be able to do. When viewing video from a comfortable viewing distance, it looks very clear and I would definitely be able to watch some lengthy videos on that screen. MP4 files play natively on this device, and a dvd rip mp4 plays with no stuttering.

Overall Cons: The only drawback I've found is that the screen resolution isn't great - its 800x480 which is the same resolution as my HTC Thunderbolt phone, but stretched to a bigger screen size so the pixel density isn't nearly as high and you can tell that. Some things don't look perfectly clear when viewing smaller text. (The kindle app looks great tho, and it could defintely be used as an e-reader with no problem.)

Overall, I give it a 4/5. For the price, its a great tablet to have. If you're looking for something to replace or to get instead of an iPad, this is not that. If you need something for your kids to be able to stream netflix or play angry birds on, this is awesome for that. I will be keeping it, and hopefully the guys on these forums will start putting out some awesome ROMs for it in the next few weeks to make it even more awesome.

So check this out.. Someone told me about a case available on amazon which has a keyboard built into it. It the keyboard of this case is almost too small to use all fingers for typing (I have semi big fingers) but it's still better than touch typing. The cool thing is it attaches via usb, and so it came with a converter to change regular usb to mini and micro usb.. The keyboard itself works with the usb and using the adapter, I tried a usb mouse.. That works Too! So I need a usb hub to turn this thing into a mini laptop. Pretty Cool!!!

using usb devices on the pmid701i

I have the pmid701i and just bought off of **** a USB A Female to Mini USB Male B 5 Pin Adapter Converter. This is the link: http://cgi.****.com/ws/****ISAPI.dll...m=170875019242 . t works unbelievably well. I have hooked up to it a usb 4 port hub, a usb keyboard(a Dell), and a usb mouse. The 4 port hub has a green little light that glows when working right, thats on. The keyboards num lock, caps lock and scroll lock all light up and all keys work great. The mouse has a light inside it that lights up when you use it,and thats glowing,so that's working. So I pretty much have a mini laptop on my hands.I work at a Big Lots and got this tablet for real cheap because the screen was cracked, but the touch screen still partially works and with the keyboard and mouse,it works great.I got the mouse, hub, and a stand for the tablet at a local Five Below store near me for $5 each and the keyboard used at a Savers near me for $3.So for about $50 I got a mini laptop that works great. If you have any questions feel free to ask me,I'll try to help the best I can.Later!

Another app that doesn't work is iHeartRadio... It did work, but an update to iHeartRadio makes it in compatible... this isn't Polaroid's fault, it is Clear Channel, the maker of iHeartRadio app.
