    Pipo M7 Pro RileyROM 2.3

This ROM is based on official Pipo firmware dated 12/5/2013. As usual, no change log...but I have tested this ROM and seems very smooth.

This ROM is equipped with the same auto install feature as the 2.2 ROM. Just put you apk files in a folder called autoinstall on your external SD and on first boot they will be installed. Please follow the instructions on post #1 of the v2.2 thread.

Also, CWM Recovery is automatically installed on first boot. I've noticed the touch screen does work with CWM...but it is VERY sensitive...so touch lightly.

I discovered what was causing wifi not to come on automatically at boot. If you use the Reboot app to power off or reboot, wifi doesn't come on automatically on the next boot. It's still OK to use this app to get into CWM Recovery, but just know that's what causes it. I've consulted Petrus on this and waiting for his reply.

I have tested Netflix and Youtube...they both work.

    This ROM is:

    Rooted with SuperSU
    Completely Debloated
Google Play Store fixes added to allow for more apps to be compatible
English Default, but easily changed to whatever language you like
    Init.d Support
Autoinstall from external SD on first boot
    Busybox Support
    Working CWM Recovery automatically installed
2, 4, 6 and 8gb parameter files for your choice of user app space
    Multi-User Support activated
    Reboot app (by Petrus) added
    Boot Animation by Tattman65
An updated First Time User's Guide
    New Rockchip driver installation app

    Enjoy!!!!!

    Hi Randy,

    Thanks for that.
I guess, if I flash and erase db (that cleans all) all will be gone and I can install everything (including. Cwm etc.) Again.

Which gets me a nice, new, virgin system. Any cons?

I experienced some problems with the multi user set up. For the second user the status bars disappear and won't come back. If you switch back to admin user it is gone there as well.

Any idea? Or solution in this ROM?

    Thanks,
    Jörg

All I've done is activate the feature so it will turn on. Clearly since Pipo does not support multi-user...there is a reason for it...it isn't very reliable.

        Rockship drivers win8.1

Tried to install the drivers, win8.1 says there is no compatible driver in the drivers directory within Pipo_M9_Max_RileyROM_2.3 directory. Any suggestion?

Everyone has problems with Windows 8.1. Have you looked at the Windows 8.1 thread in the Pipo section?

Do you have an older pc or laptop with an earlier version of Windows?

I'm flashing ROM's just fine with Windows 8.0...but I refuse to upgrade to 8.1 until the Rockchip drivers are worked out.

            Hello,

I've just flashed 2.3 and I have installed kernel_M7Pro_021113_cpu1704h_gpu600_ddr720 afterwards.

In general - do I need an overclocked kernel from RM 2.3 or can be some negative aspects to use a kernel from RM 2.1.1?

People mix kernels from other ROM's all the time. It shouldn't be a problem.

Just watch for adverse reactions, like the battery stats not working, or lag.

Much of what they do with a firmware update is in the kernel...so you loose some of the benefits of the update. I would just wait until we get patched versions of the current kernel to play with.

                Win8.1 drivers

Thank you for your quick reply.
I'll check the win8.1 section of pipo.

Thanks Riley - I hope that somebody from our community can provide us an updated overclocked kernel. I have not the knowledge to do it by my own .

I would do it myself, but I'm not as lucky as the guys who've been doing it a while.

I'll keep doing the ROM's with the latest firmware and let them do the kernels.

                      hey guys...

i uploaded some modified kernels for this firmware

its the new kernel from 2.3 modified with scripts from giouncino.

for me, the best are 1608/600/720 low voltages, my cpu doesn't need much power but is not willing to overclock more than 1704 which didn't give me anything but more points in antutu, but all the gfx benches run better with the 1608, with more than 720 ram it won't boot at all, the 1800 won't run stable, 768gpu shows a flickering screen

                      check it out, flash safely

                      kernel_cpu1608h_gpu600h_ddr720_low_voltages.zip
                      kernel_cpu1608h_gpu600h_ddr792_low_voltages (+25mV).zip
                      kernel_cpu1608h_gpu798h_ddr720_low_voltages (+25mV).zip
                      kernel_cpu1704h_gpu600h_ddr720_low_voltages (+25mV).zip

                        herrjemineh,

thanks a lot for the updated overclocked kernels.

                        My M7Pro doesn't boot with kernel_cpu1704h_gpu600h_ddr720_low_voltages.img

kernel_cpu1704h_gpu600h_ddr720_low_voltages (+25mV).img seems to work as good as fast as the kernel_M7Pro_021113_cpu1704h_gpu600_ddr72 from RM 2.1.1

                        Perhaps I'll test

                        • kernel_cpu1704h_gpu798h_ddr720_low_voltages (+25mV).im
                        • kernel_cpu1704h_gpu798h_ddr720_low_voltages (+25mV).img

                        as well

                        Einen schönen 2. Advent

                          RileyROM 2.1.1 -> RileyROM 2.3

I have firmware on the tablet RileyROM 2.1.1
Is it possible to upgrade to version 2.3, but that would save my data and installed applications?
Is it possible to install only some separate img?
Unfortunately I can not make backups, for example through Titanium, since the internal SD card is full.

Backup on external SD only. The upgrade will erase your internal SD.

                              Goog!

Hi thanks Riley, I installed this new rom updating from 1.7, seems to be light and smooth, however i noticed that in 1.7 3g modem was tuned off at boot, this was very interesting for me, because I use the 3g connection only occasionally, is there a way for me to modify this setting?Tried also to flash kernel 1608/600/720 low voltages, but no luck, my device stay stuck on first pipo logo screen, I repeated the test several times...
