Need help re: CWM recovery mode & custom ROM

    Need help re: CWM recovery mode & custom ROM

    Hi, I hope someone can help me out here.

    I posted this here instead of in a particular ROM thread because it really doesnt matter which ROM it is running, the problem below is related directly to CWM issues, and I know that someone here is smart enough to have the answers.

    I have a custom ROM flashed along with CWM.

    The box will not boot into anything this AM, only black screen. I am able to use the toothpick and boot into CWM, but cannot get any files read on an external SD or USB to attemp a reinstall of a possible update.zip so now I am cornered.

    What I want to do is to use the toothpick startup and have the Finless ROM Flash tool show 'found' so i can use features to erase NAND and flash new rom, boot and kernel.

    Since the box only boots into CWM, how can i remove or eliminate CWM so I can get my PC to 'find' the X7 again and use Finless Flash tool?

    Any help on this would be great. Thanks.

    CWM is not causing you to not go into flash mode trust me. I assume this is a RockChip device? If not, my flash tool wont work on it.

    Again CWM is not the problem. Some process your doing is not getting you into flash mode. If we knew what device it was that might help.

      Hi Bob, it is a MINIX X7 ...Sheeesh, do I feel like an idiot right now, somehow the micro usb cable came out only less than 1/16th inch, so it looked like that wasnt the problem, but tried to push it in just now and THAT was the problem. your flash tool FOUND the X7, now i can go ahead and test your new 1.8 rom

        Yet another who feels like an Idiot! I alllso try to get a new FW on my System just to check if it would run Stream Apps better...
        First i connect a mini USB into the OTG Port. then i put in the HDMI and Power cable in and the i put in a Clip into the Small Flash Hole and hold it and then click Power for a few seconds and the X7 loads CWS.. But my windows dont detect the X7 or dont get the USB connect sounds or anything... And yes i have checked if the cable inst all the way in but it is.. any advise`?

          I have just tried to boot up X7 normaly and pick the USB option in setting to test the cable and it connects to the PC as a GTI9300 and i can see the folders so it can connect just not from CWS.. ATM my X7 System is finless 1.6 and i have allso tried to use the Shutdown/reboot app to load into recovery but the same ressault.. loads CWS but no connection to the PC. CWS is 4.2 if that has anything to do with it.
          Please help

            Wierd all of a sudden it connected so now i could restor a new FW..
