I left the beast overnight and it dropped only 3% in just over 8 hours which is a dramatic improvement over ALL other ROMs I have tried. No magic installations, no special 'try this...do that' it just works! I had thought that I had a hardware problem, but now I am not so sure. I am muc happier with a long astin battery on JB than a short lasting one on KK.
KK has also told me that he is working with OmniROM on a KitKat version which is coming out soon. I for one will be looking out for this, my ageing Samsung note as been transformed with AsylumOmniROM KitKat!!
I will let Randy know that my battery problem is solved with this ROM - maybe he can work out what is different.
Now I need to workout how this HALO thing works!!
Cheers for now,
Colin.
Link to my post with instructions.
Also there is a r4 of this rom called nxmod r4

flashing instructions
Thanks Zeggi, I have it flashed now as I said in my post - but your link has brought me to a whole load of posts I did not have before??? I read through what I thought was the entire thread yesterday before getting the R4 ROM and flashing with a Freaktab setup - remembering to tick the loader box as well as I was going back from KK to JB!! Using the Rom flash tool oes low you to set a larger memory for apps than usual.
Now there are over 60 posts in this thread, so I will go and read them all to get a better understanding of this ROM - maybe the other flash method allows for this as well - even in my non gaming life I need more than 2Gb of space!
Cheers,
Colin.

2nd day report
OK guys, I give up......how does the Pie thing work??
Also my magnets on my official blue Pipo cover do NOT turn off the screen - someone else asked this question earlier, but nobody has answered. It seems a great feature, but it is useless if it doesn't work! The HALO thing also seems to be another method of running (one) multi window for notifications - is it not just s easy to roll the top bar down to access emails/messages? - or am I missing the point?
4 hours on standby and less than 1% battery gone - its like I have a completely different tablet that I don't have to worry about remembering to keep close to its charger!
Happy days - as others have said, can't wait for KK from OmniRom...........

Battery drain NOT solved
Well guys, My battery drain issue was NOT solved with this ROM and I am going back to RR2.7.2 for more testing. I thought it was great, but then realised WiFi was OFF when sleeping and I was getting no emails!
Please check my post on Randys thread for 2.7 and come back to me with YOUR figures for battery drain. KK In Singapore has indicated it is down to the hardware running the WiFi and has no intention of addressing this as the code is closed so he can't do anything about it.
Thanks,
Colin.
