    Overclock 701i

Seems that I read somewhere here about someone overclocking these tablets to 1.2 successfully. But now I am unable to locate it or the instructions. Anyone know anything about it.

the over clock is the easy part. With root antutu works great.

I have not made it to 1.2 ghz with mine, without it rebooting its self. how ever I have mine set at a max of 1152 and min of 254 and scaling is at performance. This seems to run just fine on mine with the stock firmware. I can see if It is possible to push mine to 1.2

I was able to gt it up on the Onda's

I was able to make 1.2Ghz most of the time on the Onda ROM's. Oddly enough between one flash and another of the same one I had a time where it wouldn't make it to 1.2Ghz. There are some similar models advertising that they make it to 1.5 Ghz, though the smart money is on needing t play with the core voltage and they can get mighty toasty as is back there. Might have to see if I can add a heat sink of some kind. As for the core voltage we will need better access to the voltage controller IC. It is a very adjustable little guy, but I don't know how to talk to it directly yet.

the allwinner a10 realistically tops out around 1.2Ghz if you're lucky - if we had voltage control we could probably squeeze a little more out of it. Mine unfortunately can only do just under that (can't recall the setting and too tired to pull the tablet out)

So I am able to push the tab to 1.2 ghz. But its hit or miss. UI had a max of 1200 and min of 120 scaling set to ondemand. On lower end things it seemed to run just fine. When playing games or running antutu benchmark it reboots. Playing around with settings and scaling you might be able to push it that far, I just dont feel like running through all the different combinations to try and find the one that will work for all the things I do on my tab, and then I couldnt promise these settings to work for someone else.

I had previously purchased SetCPU for use with other android phones I have hacked around with. I tried that out on this tab and noticed that there are a LOT of different settings as far as top and bottom speeds. Most kernels only have a few. However, the top speed it lists is a LOT higher than this thing will ever support. Anywhere above 1200 and it freezes up for me.
