    USB keyboard/mouse problem

I got some cheap usb keyboard/touchpad combo off ****, and I have some issues with it.

When I boot my stick, the device is recognized properly, but the mouse pointer is stuck at the bottom of the screen or just behaves badly in general.

If I unplug and replug the usb stick 2-3 times it starts working as expected. USB hub (powered or not) or straight into the stick makes no difference.

Is there something that can be done about this, or is it just due to the cheapness of the keyboard?

I was thinking something along the lines of a widget that disables and enables the USB port as a work-around but I couldn't find anything like that.

Another option is perhaps to delay the start of the USB port, but I'm not sure about that since it doesn't really work to wait until boot is finished to plug in the receiver, it's still messed up.

I think you said it best. Its highly probable that it is a defective transceiver. If the deal was too good to be true, it's for a good reason. Contact the merchant you bought through. A good shop will take it back.
