MK808B has blue light after flash but no video
I flashed my 808B with with Fins 2.1 Rom. It finished with no errors, however when I hook the dvi back to it and connect to TV all I get is the blue light. I am pretty new to this and been reading around, got pretty confused. What other information can I provide to get assistance? ThanksTags: None

Two things you can do:
- enter flash mode using the paperclip method and flash another rom.
- maybe your TV does not support the resolution, so you can try to connect it to another one and if it works there, change the resolution to 720p in android settings and test it on the first TV again.

I purchased two of these at the same time, is it possible to clone(make a backup image) the working mk808b and use it to flash the borked one? If so, how?
Thanks

It is possible, yet a little complicated. Read here how to backup a stock rom:
or
http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.php?401-Dumping-ROM-using-ADB-guide
There is also an automated method, but it doesn't work on some devices for unknown reason. For this you have to copy this update.zip to the root of your sd card and insert it when android is running. Your stick should recognize it as a system update. Don't worry, there is no real update done to your stick. The backup script is just "camouflaged" as an update so it can be executed on a stock rom. Your backup should be on the root of your sd card afterwards. Your stick will reboot in the process.

It is not that easy. There are many different clones. You have to open your stick and compare the board to the ones posted in the clones thread mentioned before.
And for the 1080p: That depends on what you mean. If you mean playing 1080p files smooth the chances are good that it will work. But typically the output of mk808b sticks is not real 1080p, it is 720p upscaled to 1080p because the GPU is too weak for real 1080p. There are special 1080p kernels but these are notably slower that "normal" 720p kernels. Also, there are no 1080p kernels for clones, at least none that i know of.

I bought mine on Aliexpress but it was long ago when no 'clones' existed, maybe all the new ones have different wifi now and you won't be able to get the old ones anymore with RK903 wifi.
If money isn't a problem, you should consider buying a RK3188 Quad-Core stick for about $20 more.
