backup firmware or not?

Before flashing new firmware, should the currently installed firmware in the device be backed up? For instance to be able to revert to stock ROM firmware in case there are problems? If so, what software tool is used for the MK809III?

Yes.. if you can... always backup

Perhaps..
Rkflashtool... there is linux version (i used in the past.. to backup)
But i just checked.. seems there is windowz version these days
