    Pipo M6 Pro Performance

After a few weeks of looking for a good tablet for my partner I've come to the M6 Pro.
However there is something that is bothering me, as I suspected a Mali 400 GPU may not be enough to smoothly powering the device. To confirme my doubts, I've read some reviews and all seem to agree. But then again, I've read some opinions which point out that in later firmware revisions it has improved a lot, up to the point which it is not noticeable.

So, does any of you own an update one? If so, is it lagging?

As it would be a present for my partner, who doesn't know much about this, I wouldn't rely in "custom" firmwares but in OTAs. If it really matters, I could do it, but as a present, I'd like her to open it and let her play with it.

As alternatives, I've taken a look to the M7 Pro. Though the M8 Pro HD seems a good one too, it wouldn't fit her needs, document editing mainly.

    Thank you very much!!

It's true that later firmware versions for the M6 Pro are much better. The big issue was random lockups. I think Pipo is ironing out the problems just in time for KitKat to arrive and start the process all over again.

I have all three tablets you mentioned.

The M6 Pro has the biggest screen...but has the most issues.

The M8 Pro is an outstanding product that has very stable firmware...but lower resolution...so the Mali GPU runs smoothly.
The M7 Pro is the smallest of the three...but for me seemed to the best performer with few, if any bugs...to speak of.

Another contender is the U8. I'm using it to type this post...and while my big fingers are having trouble with the smaller screen
...I'm very impressed this the speed and performance of it. I'm running my KitKat ROM with no problems whatsoever.

Whichever you pick...you and your partner will be pleased.

I forgot to mention the M9 Pro and the M8HD. While I don't own either one....I just got tired of the 10.1" format...I have made ROMS for both. I haven't heard much about the M8HD. The M9 Pro is plagued with wifi problems with certain devices. The Finless ROM has greatly improved the wifi performance, though...which I will continue to add to future ROMs for that tablet.

The thing about a custom ROM is that some features are unlocked...and tweaks are added to enhance the user experience. While installation can be a headache...running custom firmware isn't complicated at all.

I just warn people that there are variations in individual tablets of the same model. There are a few who don't gain the enhancements as much as others. Those are the unlucky ones.

I was actually considering the U8 for myself haha
As for her, taking into account what you've said, I think I'll buy her the M7.

the problem is that I was looking for a 9'7"-10", as I think it fits better for document editing/writing and reading, so I'll have to take a look at its dimensions.

thank you for the quick and really we'll explained answer!

I have the M6pro and I'm happy of its performance. With stock kernel dated November 25th or RileyRom 1.4 there are virtually no lockups or lags.
This is the best ROM so far.
For browsing / reading the M6pro with Retina display is the best one, in my opinion.
