CX-919 II not detected by USB

    Hello everyone,

I was trying to put a custom ROM for the CX-919 onto my new CX-919 but I can't even seem to get the stick detected on my PC. When I plug it into the USB nothing happens... And coz its not detected I can't put any ROMS on either.

    Anyone has any idea's?

    additional info:

I've tried the guides that say you have to hold the button on the side of the stick and then plug in the USB into the PC and wait for the PC to detect the stick.. .But it never does..
Also when i hold this button and plug it into USB it will eventually take me to the CX919's Recovery screen, here im able to scroll through the different options (backup, recover from external drive etc etc) but i cant seem to hit 'Enter' to start the option. On the web it says its supposed to be the button on the stick to confirm options but it doesn't work...

Did you disconnect all power sources before holding the button and connecting to pc?

Is there any other power source than the USB?.. I have the HDMI plugged into my PC monitor, if its getting power somewhere then its from that.

I have a CX-919 V1 and used the HDMI cable when flashing without issue. I think the poster meant you shouldn't have both the stick connected to its power plug and to the OTG cable. You need to just use the OTG cable slot (which for the v1 is the back one next to the regular USB slot) when flashing.

          My suggestion is:

          1. Make sure you're using the USB cable that came with the stick as USB cable compatibility is a big problem with these sticks
          2. Make sure you're using a USB 2.0 port
          3. Make sure you're using a slot that is directly connected to your motherboard (i.e. a back USB slot)
          4. Try disconnecting everything from your PC except your keyboard and mouse
          5. If everything else fails try a new PC

I was using Windows 7. I have no idea if Windows 8 is incompatible with your stick (if your using Windows 8) but that also could be an issue.

I don't quite get what you mean in your first part. When i tried to connect my stick to my PC I had the stick connected to the monitor by HDMI and I used the mini USB to USB cable that came with the stick to connect the stick to my PC. And had a mouse connected in the sticks USB slot. Also i connected it to a direct mobo USB 2.0 and on windows 7. I didn't try disconnecting all other peripherals tho. I will try this when i get home from work.

Try connecting without a mouse connected to your stick. You don't need one during the flash process as everything is done externally through your PC.

In terms of the CX-919 II, does it have a DC microUSB slot and a OTG slot? For the v1 CX-919, the DC is on the side and the OTG is in the back. When flashing you need to make sure you only use the OTG slot for connecting your USB cable to your PC. From the pic below it looks like the CX-919 II has both a back and side microUSB port. You need to identify which one is the OTG port and use only that port when flashing.

I actually never even noticed there was one on the side.... Will have to give that one a try when im home... Why do they even make 2 of these ports on it.

Also, do you think i can put those v1 CX-919 ROM's on this CX-919 II stick?

i also have this type of the stick
                    it's not CX919 !
                    it's CX-919II aka J22
the ROMs for CX919 work but wifi and bt doesn't work so you have to use different kernel

for flashing you have to use usb on the side, the bottom one is just for power

i recommend finless 1.6b or neomode 1.7 rom and any of my kernels

Thanks for the info. I downloaded your 720 OC kernel. Although I hope it wont burn my CX-919II to a crisp. As it is already getting pretty hot with the standard ROM. I'm installing neomode 1.7 with your 720 OC Kernel as we speak.

And which one is the best? Finless 1.6b or Neomode 1.7?

Also im not sure if I flashed the kernel properly as i couldnt find a manual on how to change the RK tool config. So what i did was change the Kernel line in the RK tool to the kernel i downloaded from your thread and then started the flashing procedure.
