Usb wifi keyboard and mouse?

Hi guys can someone tell me if any brand of wifi keyboard and mouse pack not an airmouse can be used on a K-r42? I set it up for my dad but a trust half size usb adaptor style model keyboard and mouse pack he has appears not work unless it's faulty.This we cannot determine yet.

Im using Logitech Unifying receiver.. on most of my devices [incl K-r42]
One dongle can have many device.. paired
So, it only uses 1 USB port.. for the wireless mouse+keyb
