NextBook 8 (NX008HD8G) BRICKED?
Got this tablet today for Christmas, and attempted to root. Didn't work, so I tried to flash a stock ROM. Long story short, it won't turn on. No boot screens whatsoever. No sign it even works at all, besides the red "charging" light when I plug it in. Probably something with the bootloader. Can anyone guide me through fixing it? It appears to be a hard brick, but I've heard of people fixing those. If anyone can help, it'd be much appreciated.

Anyone with a tablet manufactured after August or September 2013 will have to wait until someone managed to successfully root and dump the ROM from the newer build date.
Even then, it will probably require a rescue format SD card also, in order to fix the bootloader...

I do not know exactly how to do that
Download the modified recovery from here: http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.php?7010-Amlogic-Next8HD8G-%28NX008HD8G%29-Modified-Recovery-Stock-Rom-amp-Flashable-Root
Unzip it and place the uImage_recovery on the external SD card. Put the SD card back in the tablet and try to reboot to recovery. It it boots to recovery, download the ROM. Put the unopened ROM zip file on the SD card with the uImage_recovery file, reboot to recovery and flash the ROM.
If it doesn't boot to the uImage_recovery file on the SD card, then either the bootloader is corrupted or the hardware is dead.
I expect to release a bootloader rescue SD card image soon.

Wipe data and cache from recovery and try flashing again. If you can't flash it and get it to boot normally, then I'd say your hardware is to blame... that would certainly explain why yours just suddenly stopped booting.

It sounds to me like something in your hardware died...
