Just a suggestion when developing a new ROM create a new thread maybe? Just so when you need testers etc. People can chip in and help out. When the ROM is in Beta or Release phase just archive the old thread and create a new one for the actually Release Candidate? Just a suggestion mind!
Hope all is well!

Works but.....

If someone wants to test it for me. Please let me know how it goes.
Successful boot is the main thing I'm worried about. After that, we can start to work on performance and features.
This ROM has all of my usual features (see post #1 on one of my ROM threads). If we need to, I can add further tweaks like the ones Finless added to his ROM. Like I said above, I need a baseline to start from.
Download
If this works, I will start a new RileyROM thread.
The Pipo site 4.4.2 version works very well in parts. But the GPS module is completely missing, Z-Device confirms this; the Miracast has a bug (or at least it does not do final connect with my LG WiFi Direct TV though they get as far as the tablet asking me to confirm making a connection). Auto Brightness cannot be set (it is in the settings menu). Minor power button issue - a quick short press does nothing and a follow up press often gets a screen 'blink' - like it has been switched on then off; but a longer press works even though you may get 'power off' menu which can be ignored. Antutu runs around 18,200 to 18,400. WiFi seems stable (some ROMs gave an issue). Bluetooth as good as or better than other ROMs. Apps I have tried including Skype run well (though not with my bluetooth headset but then other ROMs did not). Videos run smooth. Not Pipo firmware I suspect although it is on their site. Others have mentioned it is of Russian origin/is a beta and so on. I did note some odd references to Nokia and I think Samsung in some of the root which seemed odd to me. Also it loads with Pipo 4.2.2 logo and then goes to general 'android' word as it loads. Without wishing to insult, if you are able to add GPS and tidy this up then please let me know - I will carry on testing - and when your version boots will go onto that, otherwise I may drop back to an earlier ROM. I am playing with a new Pipo M9 Pro tablet so I do not mind testing out new ROMs but eventually I will need to stop playing and start using it for real.

I did go back to previous Kasty Rom and had similar problem but a second restore did the trick - I assumed on first restore I had pressed 'update' rather than restore but maybe you know different. I am now back on the 4.4.2 - I like some of the aspects - but may wish to try Finless or Riley.
You should always push the restore button

I'm still learning my way around KitKat. This version has some major differences to the U8 KitKat ROM I did. Pipo is implementing a new security feature in this ROM that is giving me trouble. The first test version I created won't boot because of a parameter change I didn't catch.
Be VERY CAREFUL with flashing these KitKat ROMs!!!!! You are at a huge risk of bricking your tablet. I did it with my M8 Pro...and I still haven't fixed it.
These new updates flash a new loader that may prevent us from being able to root.
Unless you are really experienced at recovering from a bricked tablet situation...I would NOT ATTEMPT flashing one of these KitKat ROMs until we get this figured out. I may be asking Finless and some other developers to help with this.

You said KitKat is flashing a new loader...so if we would return to another firmware we should maybe tick loader in RKbatchtool ?

My test ROM isn't working yet.
I'm thinking that you need to flash the original loader to return to 4.2.2. I haven't verified that yet. I have been too busy with work for a few days. Tuesday and Wednesday...I plan to pick up where I left off last week.

It's from Russian developers.

Afaik kastys custom Rom is based on the official pipo release.
For me this ROM is the best till now! It's fluid, fast and everything except GPS and auto brightness works perfectly.
Did not have a single reboot with this ROM and 'art' really gives extra speed, so no need to go back to finless.
This is what kasty writes:
Here is an Android 4.4.2 KitKat rooted firmware for the PiPO M9 PRO (aka Max-M9pro) for the WiFI model. This custom firmware is based on new official update dated 2013/12/26.
