are these for a particular model or are them general for rockchip and need to be customized (for example for the kind of wifi chip or display...)?
if you appreciate my efforts this is the link for any donation:

        Kitkat System is generic

Kernel is generic save the makefile etc is configured for MK908 (i.e. AP6210 configured as wifi). Simple enough to change.

It has full device support for tablets and sticks.

          Thanks for the post.

Maybe with this, we can get some tablet love from our kernel developers...hahahaha!!!!!!!!

Without the device is a nightmare work in a kernel for tablet Lets see if some tablet users want to start to work in kernel.

Dnkn is our Pipo kernel guy. He's aware of the sources (He PM'd me).

He only has an M9 Pro, I think..though.

Nope, I have m9, not pro. I haven't looked into those sources, but it should simplify development. I'm on mobile connection now, will download later and examine the sources.

Yesterday I've built both kernel and the whole os using this leak. It has a lot of useful stuff, but the kernel is for TV stick, and even using config for m9 it still uses only HDMI, no picture on LCD, also no battery in os , no brightness adjusting. So it's for sticks. That is not very big deal to alter it for tablets, but as for me, I don't have time for it now. WiFi/BT works, so I can port kk from m9pro now, but later. I have some urgent work to be done.

                        Tks dnkn for the info,
If you say it' s for hdmi sticks and it's no big deal to convert it to tablets, i trust you.

                        Once you have more time,
Maybe i could learn from your experience and try to port at least the kernel for another pipo tablet.

                          DNKN,

                          Happy new year.

I have built the kernel using the source as supplied but it doesn't boot, whereas Strauzo and you have built them with no problems.

Could you look through this thread and see if you can advise me where I'm going wrong?

I looked through the menus and the screen drivers appear to be missing but I assume we can re-use the ones from the old 4.2.2 source? Worth a go once I get a bootable ROM.

                            Raxy,

It is no big deal to get started at this. You need a linux environment, the sources and a hellof a lot of patience!

My mini guide to get started is:
                            • Build a suitable Linux environment - I used Oracle VM on my Windows 8 Pro laptop and installed Ubuntu x86 13.10
                            • Extract the kernel sources to Android/kernel in your home directory
                            • Get the latest toolchains from git
                              • git clone git://github.com/DooMLoRD/android_prebuilt_toolchains.git toolchains
                            • Build all the lib includes
                              • sudo apt-get install git-core gnupg flex bison gperf libsdl-dev libesd0-dev libwxgtk2.8-dev build-essential zip curl libncurses5-dev zlib1g-dev ia32-libs lib32z1-dev lib32ncurses5-dev gcc-multilib g++-multilib sharutils lzop gcc-arm-linux-gnueabi
                            • Set the ARCH/CROSS_COMPILE params explicitly
                              • export ARCH=arm
                              • export CROSS_COMPILE=~/android/kernel/toolchains/arm-eabi-4.4.3/bin/arm-eabi-
                            • Clean the environment
                              • Make clean
                            • Run a full compile
                              • Make kernel.img
                            • If all good then you can play with the kernel configuration using the sources and "Make menuconfig"

Great post, that toolchain seems to make the difference on my system. I now have a compiled kernel.

Now I just need to understand what I'm doing and then look at compiling for a tablet.

                              Thanks again
