This is great news. Nightlies released after 30/12 will now support full hw decoding on amlogic devices naively. Have a read here http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=181739

This is, of course, brilliant news and had to happen as the Amlogic is the best platform for XBMC - end of!

Great more sugar coated goodness. This is one of the reasons why I bought the box... and because of the way you spoke highly of it running xbmc.

          Cheers

Great work getting your ROM for this device running. I have tested a few boxes for Jynxbox and this M6 is by far the most promising so far. I think it is fairly quick, its stable and the build quality seems so much better than the previous models. I have written Jynxbox to get them to be better at updating their website with firmwares and other support items as that is where I think they lack some development. This is not important now that finless is working on a custom ROM which I think can only be better than the stock firmware but I asked Jynxbox to put their stock ROMs online for download so I hope they will do that as it is always good to be able to get back to stock if something else fails. But looking forward to this new custom ROM and if testing is needed then I will gladly test on my M6 as I can get a new one for free as I test for Jynxbox so they will just send me a new one if I break the one I have Also have a M1 Linux which runs pure XBMC from boot and is not a bad box either. Im running the Pivox XIOS Linux M1 rom on it which works very well. So if testing of this new ROM is needed then my M6 can be used so you dont risk bricking your own.

What's the real difference between this jynxbox device and any other gbox midnight clone which could be even half of the jynxbox price?

To be honest I dont think there is much difference. I had the Jynxbox Android HD for test and the build quality was quite poor. But since then the boxes changed and now seem more like quality builds so I think they are simply the same box from the same chinese factory with different names. This is supported by the fact that M6 runs both Pivos, Geniatech and Mygica ATV400 and ATV520b ROMS. So I think there is little difference, atleast in the boxes I have tested.

FYI I believe all the ROMs for this type of model is made by Geniatech!
I have downloaded and taken apart the Mygica, etc etc and they all seem to have Geniatech's finger print all over them.

Since I did not have a stock ROM for the M6, I used a Mygica TV400 9/20 overseas release to make my ROM.

I did try to dump my stock M6 ROM but the dump did not work.

So why then to buy Jynxbox M6 for the double price of gbox clone?

maybe they wont have to anymore, mx2 works perfect if configured correctly and also has a purely linux rom which makes it even better

Getting my Jynxbox M6 tomorrow so will be able to add my comments etc - I am a G-Box MX2 (clone) fan - so will be good to compare. The M6 is more expensive and has a lower spec than the MX2. Be interesting to see if the WiFi on the M6 is as bad as the MX2 ?

look forward to your reply, I know the remote will be much better but is it enought to justify the cost difference.

Personally my friend I would of held tight and waited for the new quad core amlogic atv1800 etc .

but either way you box will be great and look forwrad to your review and comparison if you have had other boxes!

It looks like the new Amlogic Quad Core M802 TV box is still about 1 month away - however once it is here it may force down the high prices being charged to buy the Jynxbox M6. I think maybe the M6 may have a very short market life - time will tell
