new Minix firmware released 008 - will be Finless 1.9 released based on 008?

Will be in Finless 1.9 OTA updates so we do not have to install all applications and set settings all over again (very big pain in the A)

Thank You Bob - I still use your 1.7 because lack of time with install and set up all over again - and my Macbook dont have USB 2.0 to install your updates (not easy for me to find PC with USB 2.0)

Probably but I am going to wait a few days and see what people report.
Making a ROM from Minix stock is not as easy as others. The amount of boot.img's (air, no air, etc) I have to make to debloat and modded kernels, etc, takes time even though I have it all scripted.
Thus I am going to see how stable this is before I make a new ROM.

Maybe late next week I will work on one.

from your previous posts it seems that using build.prop with no overlay and density 240 for videos results in a true 1080p video playback on
lso on xbmc side. Is that correct? If so do you have any way to validate it?

While i am happy to see improvements on behalf of Minix such as xbmc for minix and finally solving there passthrough problems with xbmc. The device can not be rooted by users such as myself, i mean non unix programmers, b/c minix will not allow an abd push on fw app. I look forward to seeing what you come up with again to blow us away. I am not happy with the new 008....still kills Hulu and a lot of other streaming apps...Only hulu 2.6 still works just like 007FW. Bob, can this be fixed???

Right now I am sticking with Hybrid 3.2...the only customized Rom with core 006b firmware which dont breaks anything.

hdmi passthrough not working properly with Pandora

I noticed last night that passthrough works fine on apps that are suppose to use them, but i was using pandora and no sound would play through passthrough, i had to send signal through regular hdmi hookup to listen to music. Has anyone else noticed this? I have also noticed some buffering issues on netflix.

logitech 400 keyboard using xbmc

I am unable to mark favorites like before using xbmc. Using keyboard holding down right mouse button along with touching pad does not give a drop down menu. Minor problem, but just another small glitch. I have resolved troubles with netflix but have noticed problems with youtube as well like the others.

I run the Finless 1.8 and are 100% satisfied with it. Do not see why a 1.9 should be rushed out. A fix for the init.d problem would be nice tho.

And to be honest, I think I would prefer a raw 100% Finless ROM then one based on Minix 008.

YouTube App doesn't play at all for me on 1.8,i get sound with a blank screen.

Totally agree with you, 100% happy with Finless 1.8 now.

Iagree as well. My only reason for a 1.9 would be to allow the 1.8 to accept the xbmc for minix which I really like alot and the possibility of ota fw transfers which the 1,8 is lacking. Regardless major improvements either way.
