And there isn't an app to open your case either!!! You might as well get familiarized with doing this task because sooner or later you will brick you stick and the only way to bring it back is to short pins on the nand chip.

No!!! there's no app to short pins either

No, closest you can come is to find out chip vendor by checking the mac-address against a database. However, this is not enough most likely as i guess most wifi chips are from the same vendor.

Edit: try fing network tool for that...

                  MAC for the AP2610

My CX-919 has the AP-2610 WiFi Chip. The first three octets of the MAC address are unique to each vendor. As pointed out above, the same chip vendor may supply chips to many different manufacturers. Some manufacturers such as Dell, HP, Apple etc. may order chips with their own addresses. Some don't bother.

That said, the MAC address of my AP-2610 starts with 98:3B:16.
That code belongs to AMPAK Technology Inc.

I agree with previous posts recommending to open the case and look. I found that to be very easy. My case was just snapped together...no glue.

                  Good Luck...Brad

In the time it you to read this whole thread you could've; popped the case open, take a picture, posted on facebook, count the resistors, show it to all your friends and snap it back....... that simple..
