Amlogic g02ref/g18ref Vbox? What is this... ?

    Amlogic g02ref/g18ref Vbox? What is this... ?

    Hey guys i have a Vmedia Vbox which is an Amlogic A9 Dual core 1.5Mhz 1GB/4GB device
    CPUZ says its a g18ref but system tools say its a g02ref (wtf?)
    it has HDMI, 2 USB ports and a large SD card port

    would anyone have any idea on how to root this device or flash a custom rom/linux xbmc ??
    i've tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2418029 but all i get is "installation error... aborted"

      Installation aborted.

      error is the same as trying to install any other firmware, etc
      someone in that thread mentioned using a motocopter ? but how would i even connect a tv box to a computer
