New MK808/B Custom Rom to be Released

Hi

I'm working on a new rom for MK808/B
It will be released within a week if all goes to plan.
I still have some bugs to iron out, if I don't succeed I'll release a simplified version of the rom.

What are the features you want to see, please post. If it's not too complicated I'll try to add it.
What apps should be included for eg. in video , audio, social, office or other categories?
(Please only free apps or apps downloadable through Google play store)
What boot animation should there be.
Any good background wallpaper or launchers that should be used. How should the layout look?
What settings should be enabled or added to build.prop?

It will be better than the digitop roms as it's going to be based on Android 4.2 and have updated drivers.

Good luck on your rom! Nice to see that you finally decided to cook one on your own . It is really about time to get a decent alternative for Finless 2.1.

Some thoughts:
-If you add user apps, make them a seperate flashable zip, i think most people (me included) rather want a slim rom.
- What base firmware are you using?
- For the launcher, i would prefer something close to stock (not one of these "TV Launchers" like in the latest 4.2 stock roms
- i always liked the stock google bootanimation, either that one or another simple one

As a suggestion can you make a clean rom in witch the main use will be with xbmc.
Cleaning all most the apps that came with the rom's?

It's newer than Finless 2.1 and the Nov stock 4.2 that was released, it's a secret for now.

XBMC playback is quite smooth, two videos(1080p) that I tested on digitop Nov rom that had 2 dropped frames per second now play without any framedrop but it was on 720p kernel.

The only problem I still have is testing kernels and a resolution bug. When wifi works the resolution is only 2/3 of the screen but when resolution is fullscreen wifi doesn't work. Hope I can fix it.

I suggest apex launcher. It's faster and better looking than Go Lanucher.
I think you linked to the wrong bootanimation, i see no blue android robot there . Maybe you want to use my bootanimation: http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...=bootanimation
Have you tried the stock 4.2 kernel from the latest release? Maybe it is not that bad .

Game suport will be nice, and suport for RKremote Control. No region restriction for play store...
And a kernel for non b mk808

The only bug i can find in finless 1.7 is a conflict with adobe flash.

With the ''auto hide taskbar on" when i try to use full screen icon (e.g in youtube, internet etc) i have black screen (i can hear the sound though)

So i use ''auto hide taskbar off'' (works fine but the taskbar is there). So can you see that in your rom? maybe it is a conflict..

- the "Wifi Display" app for "proper" mirroring of smartphone/tablet screen to TV without cable or extra hdmi dongle.
- working VPN
+ new to rom:
- voice controls, with always-on "hotword" voice wakeup ("louder", "qieter", "pause", "next", "open xbmc" etc ideally: "swipe left", scroll down", "hide toolbar"). Similar to Moto or Sammy phones, but using webcam mic.
- screensaver function (like windows) to stop TV burn-in.

The mirroring module is there, will have to test it later.
Voice controls, maybe a future feature as I don't have experience with it and different webcams might not work properly.

what is the best screensaver app that can be installed, didn't find a lot?

Anyone have experience of compiling working kernels for MK808/B?
I really need a custom kernel, otherwise wifi might not work for this rom without screen resolution problems.
I asked some people for help, so hopefully someone will get back to me.
