[Q] Next Book 7P12-8G Andriod version 4.04 Rom
I was handed a Walmart $69 NextBook 7P12-8G Serial # YFG091311XXXX. I did a little research got enough to root it and then THOUGHT I had the right rom for it. I flashed what I thought was right, so now I have a mostly working tablet minus wifi. I know stupid me for not reading everything I could on everything. So my question is because I can not find it via searching google, XDA, etc.. How can I tell what chip set I have? and if there is a rom I could flash it with to get the wifi back at least.
ThanksTags: None

Regarding Next7P12-8G WIFI Issues
The only complete ROM I currently have for the Next7P12-8G is dated 10-23-13. This is the build the stock ROM I have already released is based on.
For you guys that are having WIFI problems. You need to provide the serial number from the sticker on the back of your tablet or from the box so we can determine when it was manufactured. Then we'll need to find someone with an original ROM that can provide a ROM dump.

Currently mine will only allow me to access the system recovery, with the lady listening to the music staying there forever on the second screen with the Nextbook logo. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help, or additionally, if your update will fix it.
Cheers!

You mention a ROM dump, and I haven't yet flashed mine, but it may not be what you're looking for. The serial is YFG0313XXXXXX.

We identified that Nextbook used two different WiFi chips in the Next7P12-8G. It won't be possible to determine which WiFi chip is in yours if you can't currently boot. My ROM will boot but WiFi may or may not work.
I'm currently finishing up testing on new modified ROMs for both WiFi chips, so if WiFi doesn't work using the current stock ROM, you won't have to wait long for a fix.

Yeah I'm sorry for the necro. I can't find anything for my tablet and Google is giving me the runaround, so I ended up here.
Can you point me in the right direction for where I need to be looking or waiting for something to help? I hate to use this thing as target practice unless it absolutely won't work. It's weird the bootloader arguments suddenly go null, but it is what it is. Thanks!

Will these work for the Ematic Genesis 2 Tablet, which says in the back of the tablet is also called the NextBook7P12-8G? Didn't come with a SN sticker with the YF serials, but a custom sticker that starts with EMGS. Sadly, the Ematic site does not have the Genesis 2 listed in their support.

If the hardware is exactly the same, it should, but if the hardware is not exactly the same, it either won't work correctly or may not boot at all, and it will be impossible to fix without the stock firmware.

Probably the same board... the Next7P12-8G have the board identified as NXM727MC... looks like the first two chars identify the vendor.
There still isn't any way I can guarantee everything will work though.

Then you just use the recovery as you normally would.
I assume you know how to use a recovery to flash to .zip files?
P.s. if twrp hangs or the tablet reverts to stock recovery instead then the twrp and the rom are not compatible with your device.
