Tronsmart A928 vs Minix NEO X7 / MINI

Looks like A928 is a new product and I wonder if anyone here has order one? How is it compare to the Minix NEO X7 (mini)?

Is tronsmart a better company than Minix?

Price difference is about $40, I wonder if Minix is indeed better? Thanks guys~~

If Tronsmart would respond to customers and do what Minix does like here on this web site, then maybe we would take them seriously! Alas, they do NOT respond to customers and they leave their products on old releases and leave customers with NOTHING!

Prime example... Look at the T428. They were first with a quad core but left all T428 users on a old release and pissed off!

When it comes to products from China like this, support and updates are KEY! Tronsmart BLOWS ASS on this even when they have a good product!

Personally... I would RUN and NOT WALK away from this product..... 3 months from now it will not be updated and supported as this is how Tronsmart's history is...

Minix is still supporting last years dual core product (the X5).
So NO WAY does Tronsmart compare to Minix!

If i had an info like this six months ago i would not have bought the mk908 i have now that suffers from severe problems as we all know. However, i thank bob for his support and all the work he has done, without you i would have kicked the stick out of my window already.

Thanks Bob for your valuable feedback, really appreciate that. I have owned the MK808 and yes I do have a few problem with them.

I am now looking for a new device so I can use it for a mini HTPC. Look at Minix NEO X7 and think this might be viable option. I am also considering Roku 3, but it seems doesn't support DLNA which really sux as I normaly play HD movie from a local server. Do we have anyone with Roku 3 which can give some feedback? Thanks again..

According with geekbuying, it comes with a air mouse plus have ota updates plus its cheaper.

to get ota updates you would need, first, to have an update at all.
if you wait tronsmart, you'll get maybe -one- update then wait till the thermal death of the universe.
maybe it will use the same hardware as Zero Devices Z6C (as they are already cloning their box lookwise) so you'll be able to leech their updates like tronsmart t428 users do with minix x7.

Thats not entirely true, the mk908 recieved 3 updates at least, however, it is still far away from stable...

I also looked at A928.
They just released KitKat beta for A928. Sounds promising for me ;-)

What i do not understand, why do all this devices have absolutely no airflow?
My CX-921 got really hot with stock kernel, so i installed a heat sink from an old graphics card and some holes for airflow. Now it's perfect and it took me 15 minutes.

Something about Tronsmart I don't understand, who is Netxeon?

I have a MK908 v3 stick, I got it through Alibaba as I was looking for a replacement for running XBMC on something with superior hardware to a Raspberry Pi. Does Tronsmart actually make the hardware or are they just a distributor of hardware?

Found another one (Geniatech ATV1220) even support DVB-T tuner, rarely see this support in Android platform. Plus it also support Apple Air-Play!! What do you guys think?

Thus device i had an eye on a year ago already, but if i have a dvb-s tuner i would need a cam module also... however, i could not find a single vendor that sells that box anyways.

I bought an Tronsmart A928 but im still waiting for it to arrive. Anyone out there that already has the device can tell if you´re satisfied?

And i cant really understand if there is already alternative roms for it? Can anyone also confrm that T428 rom suit for the A928?

I ´ve read that Kitkat rom beta suits the T428, but does the roms made by the comunity, like Finless, for T428 suit for A928? And what kernel is better suitable for A928?

Agree with Bob Minix needs some pr, but they do try and better there products and support then tronsmart not so much and pretty sure they going to follow same for new items,

I have a T428 device, that device was one of first rk3188 on the market and have a hardware near minix 7. Tronsmart even having such a good device never work on firmware. Tronsmart is just marketing devices, I doubt they even know what is a firmware. Rockchip is also to blame, none of their device would work if developper like Finless debug it. I recently switch to other chips device like Allwinner. Reading forum I was missleed by comment like "look for device with development" In fact my CS918S work right from the box, so there is no firmware patch, video fix.... it simply work no need for firmware.

Ya but trying to get new boxes that work outa the box getting harder as T chip in almost all of them check out geekbuying site very few not locked at 1.4 not much runs well at that low speed...... its Minix ugoo (Newer boards old ones still at 1.4) and thats about it for 3188 non Shit T chip.
