Newbie orderd cube 9x and needs help with the flashing world

    Hello,
    I'm ordering a Cube 9x today.
After doing some research I've decided it's probably the best Chinese tablet today and will get me the most value for money under 250$.

From what I understand I should stay away from the black version, as it doesn't get the new 2.0 firmware. I'll order a white 32gb and hope it'll be week 26+.

I really need some help getting into the whole ROM flashing business, I'm an IT professional and I know my way around software and I've been jail breaking iPhone since iPhone 3, but I never had the pleasure of flashing an android device yet.

Is there any chance that someone will make a newbies guide for how to get a new cube 9x from its original version to the new v2.0 with 4GB apps and without all the Chinese apps? if so, I would really appriciate it, and I bet it will be super useful to everyone visiting the forum,

Thanks to anyone willing to help me out, I'd appreciate it if you won't send me tons of link to generic FAQs for Android flashing, since cube 9x isn't a poplar device and I'm not sure how these FAQ will be relevant.

    Thanks a lot!

p.s. sorry for double posting, but I wan't sure posting this inside a thread was a good idea, so I've posted here as well.

I thought all white tabs were 16gb and all black tabs were 32gb. If that is the case then you will need a 16gb tab if your set on using the version 2.0 ROM.
Personally I would get the tab you want and use one of the ROM's that are here that have been tried and tested.
I have been using the 900ss ROM for a few months on my 32gb tab and its been faultless.

It would seem taht new tablets come out of the factory with firmware 2.0, so I'll get the 32gb.
When you say you're using 900ss ROM, do you mean this rom http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...September-2014?

Oh yeah I've just caught up on the V2 ROM thread.
Looks like someone received a 32gb with V2 installed.
With any luck you will get V2 as well and can use some of the tweaks listed on the V2 ROM thread ;-)

          Cube T9 coming out

I would seem that a new model Cube T9 will be released soon, with 64 bit architecture and 4G LTE.
          Read about it here: http://cngadget.info/tag/cube-t9/

I think I'll wait for it to come out and get it on release.

Cube T9 is equipped with mt8752 (is the same of MT8392 of our cube talk 9x but with ONLY 64 bit support and 4G LTE).
If for you is not mandatory to have 4G... cube talk 9x is still a very good choice! Just because is not clear when T9 will be released on the market AND most important if it will be "lucky" with a ROCK SOLID stability as cube talk 9x...

In any case cube T9 is an interesting device.

I think it's a presale (i cannot open http://item.jd.com/1285021.html), no other places have this tablet, you probably need to wait 2 or even more months before get the tablet in your hands...

It depends on how much patience you have...

I think that other than our fantastic cube talk 9x the best tablets of the moment are:

Teclast P98 air (with allwinner a80T SoC)
ifive air (with RK3288 SoC and a fantastic boot time of 10sec)
Teclast x98 air 3G II with dual boot Windows/Android (with Intel Z3735 SoC)

Cube T9 goes on sale for $228 – 64 digit tablet with 4G support

The highly anticipated 64-digit 4G tablet – the Cube T9 now goes on sale on JD.com for RMB1,399 ($228).

Marketed as the successor of Cube’s previous flagship 3G tablet – the Talk 9X, which got a lot of positive feedback from both domestic and foreign users, the Cube T9 features a 9.7-inch IPS retina display at the resolution of 2048*1536, the same seen on the Talk 9X as well as the Apple iPad Air. It also has a 10,000mAh Li-Po battery, which is supposed to give the tablet about 10 hours’ screen time. The real upgrades from the Talk 9X are the internals and cameras. The T9 is powered by the all new 64 digit MediaTek MT8752V octa-core processor, which has eight cores of Cortex A53 running at the speed up to 2.0GHZ, and a Mali-760MP2 GPU to take care of the graphics. There are dual cameras on board, the front-facing 2.0MP camera can easily take care of video-chatting and selfie, the rear-facing 13MP camera is arguably the best camera ever used on a tablet.
Like the other members from Cube’s Talk series, the T9 has full phone functionalities, which means there are 4G network access (LTE / TD-LTE), GPS, Bluetooth, FM radio on board. The T9 is also the first tablet ever to use the combination of die casting roll cage and metal anti-roll frame to protect the internals.

Key features of the Cube T9:
                      9,7 inch IPS display at 2048 x 1536px
                      MT8752 8x Cortex-A53, 2.0GHz (4G)
                      MALI T760 MP2
                      2GB / 32GB
                      Android 4.4
                      13MP & 2MP cameras
                      10,000mAh battery
                      2G: GSM Phone Call 850/900/1800/1900MHz
                      3G: TD-SCDMA 2100/1900MHz, WCDMA 850/2100MHz
                      4G: FDD-LTE B1/B3/B7, TDD-LTE B38~41
                      OTG/GPS/GLONASS /Micro-SD/WiFi 2,4 & 5G/Bluetooth
                      238.8 x 170 x 8.9mm
                      520g

The teclast is too heavy and bulky, and not as good as the 9x from what I gather.
and the ifive has no 3\4G.

Teclast P98 weight is almost the same of cube talk 9x and cube T9. But allwinner A80 is definitely faster than cube.

I agree for iFive that has no 3G and no GPS.
