Haha to the P.S.! I changed the build.prop because I wanted to have access to more play store apps-if you guys have a better idea which table to 'spoof' to get us more recent apps, by all means let me know for inclusion in v.02.

I think it has to do with the build.prop and/or the permissions (/system/etc/permissions). I say that because I went back to LiquidLimez's Market Fix thread, downloaded the package, chopped out everything EXCEPT the build.prop and the permissions (because I already have the latest Gapps and have all my apps where I want them), uninstalled my current Google+ and Maps, rebooted, started Play Store, found and installed the latest/greatest Google+ and Maps. It all seems to work, and (according to Settings > About Tablet), my 701i is much more firmly grounded in reality.

I see what you mean. I can include most (not all-don't want to do everything in there) of his changes in v0.2 :-)

Definitely not. This is definitely for the 701 series, and I wouldn't recommend using this ROM on your tablet, however once I get my Elektricity ROM stable enough on the 701, I'll start working on others.

I was successful in modifying the stock ROM for the 703 to give root/Google Play (and even CWM recovery), however since I don't have your model, I'd have to try to have you test it. This isn't for the faint of heart, so if you're a newb and/or not knowledgable about Android at all, you may want to learn more and play with (and enjoy!) your tablet for a bit.

Ok, you're on! I'll start downloading the latest 705x (That's the model you have right? Not the 705?), and see if I can at least get root/google play and CWM on it for you-but just like the 703/PTAB7XC folk, you'll have to wait for me to get my full Elektricity ROM on it...

I'll let you know (via PM) when I have an image to test.

I got one of them myself, and just installed the elektricity rom. I am a developer, but pretty new to Android, and this is my first Android device, so looking forward to writing a few apps, etc.

I find it interesting that in the about info it says it's a Nexus 7?

you mean in my elektricity rom? ya, it's because I modified the build.prop so the google play store would think it's a different device so we can install more apps...
