the attached files (in a zip) need to go into /system/etc/permissions - overwriting the ones that are there. You also need to clear the data on the Play Store app and (probably) clear the /cache partition too. I put those in there, with the nexus 7'd build.prop that is in this rom by default and I can install all of the apps I've tried so far (like Jetpack Joyride, Angry Birds and Androsensor)
Ah yes, I know what these are-these are (essentially) the liquidlimez fixes mentioned in a different post. Good to know this was/is the problem. I already have these files in place for elektricity ROM v 0.2 (currently working on when I'm not extremely distracted by everything else, lol!)

I've noticed that the weather channel app never displays, it juststayd a black screen.

Also I can't correct the text above.

I'll check into it. it's just the weather channel app from the play store, I assume. also what text are you referring to?

Hi x2rider-I flashed the stock 701C image onto my tablet and tested the weather channel with the same result, so clearly, there's some sort of incompatibility with that app and our tablet.

Sorry-not the answer I'm sure you were looking for...

At least its consistent! Which means it should be reproducable and debuggable... is that a word? Lol

First, thanks for all your efforts but got a question...is there any advantage in upgrading from gingerbread to ics on this tablet? have only installed a couple apps with no issue and the little things seems pretty peppy when surfing and such?

you know, I remember gb being really zippy after ai tweaked it. if you're happy with it and it's tweaked the way you want-keep it. I may play with a gingerbread version of elektricity ROM if there's interest.

I dig your ROM but I think the 701C is just a little underpowered to run ICS. It works fine, it's just sluggish. I'd totally dig a GB version of it.

My sentiments exactly. Excellent work on the Electricity Rom, but it's difficult to justify the loss of speed.

I'd certainly update to a GB version.

Ok cool. Didn't think there would have been that much interest in a GB version-clearly I was mistaken :-)

keep in mind though that gingerbread acts 'strange' in that it sometimes disables thr home/menu key (it did on mine), at least with the stock(as indicated on Page 3 in 'Polaroid ROMS by Shawn'). I'm hoping once I get into the guts of it I won't have that problem....

UPDATE: Nevermind, I found a file that Shawn posted that fixed this-I'll have to incorporate it (http://www.freaktab.com/attachment.p...5&d=1335709915).

Just noticed Google Talk isn't included - any way you can add that?

If there's enough demand I might. In the meantime, there's plenty of places you can download and install it
