For me , I register freaktab just now, and I will pay close attention to there. I want to know whether Allwinner was thoughtless about the H3 chipset solution.

    Thank you.

I'm sure that your expertise will be very welcome on Freaktab.

I've just been chatting to somebody who has received their X2, comparing notes with my Zidoo X1.

Apparently there is no Beelink branding on the box at all and the boot logo is for something called Mbox, whoever they are.

Additionally, if you are buying one of these for your kids, DO NOT let them use it before you have set it up because the installed Kodi (14.2 from April) has been preloaded with quite a few addons, two of the video ones being for PORN sites.

He also confirmed that the box comes unrooted.

It's the other way around - I had written a bit, but it's already written better here. http://www.howtogeek.com/196541/emmc...rage-is-equal/

NAND are usually higher end, better quality.
eMMC are the low end cheap version.

It would be much better to get a version of Openelec running on this, as opposed to Android.

Has anybody heard if anyone is working on one?

Unless there is a mass takeup of the H3 SOC then I don't think that we are likely to see Openelec come to it as I would imagine that it would be pointed out that it is capable of running the native Android port of Kodi quite adequately.

One of the Pi variations would seem a better choice for those wanting to use it.

I thought the Tronsmart Draco has a version of Openelec? I may be wrong about that. I skimmed over an article a while back.

You can use linux with all H3 devices with some limitations, no HW acceleration etc. and I think that will not change in the immediate for now.
It's not important if pi or not pi.

This pi "shit" is only a marketing thing.

The Pi works very well as long as you don't want 4k.

please specify which PI you mean?
                  There are many around.
With Allwinner SoC banana, orange .....
And I don't think you can do HW H265 decode or other codecs that are not mpeg2 or h264 or display 4K with your OT raspberry.

For most peoples needs the Raspberry Pi 2 Model B does the job quite well.

Openelec or even better OSMC and you are up and running for most tasks in no time.

Sorry again, perhaps I have not explained well.
                              OT means off topic.
If I'm not mistaken we are in the section Allwinner Tv players.
To my knowledge, the Raspberry PI is not an Allwinner product.
Since there is no suitable section in this forum for the Raspberry PI, The only one possible seems the Off Topic section.
But no problem, we can talk calmly about what beer you prefer or what you ate yesterday.

I also own a Raspberry PI, but I just use it mainly as an ornament or paperweight.

On the contrary, it was quite relevant because the subject of openelec came up, so comparisons were made with regards to Pi functionality as an alternative, which you, yourself were quite happy to engage in on a number of your posts and therefore were being rather mary, mary, quite contrary, including in the very post that you were making your point in,mentioning the 'other product'.

So I'm afraid that you were being OTT (over the top) in your reaction.

                                Oh the irony!
