TWRP_TX6.zip - copy it to a USB flash drive (required because stock recovery does not see the SD card) - reboot into stock recovery - select Apply update from External - select TWRP_TX6.zip there and load into TWRP.

Is there a way I can install youtube vanced on the TX6 box? It's rooted, and the instructions say to flash the installer files using twrp. Any alternative method to install youtube vanced? This version of TWRP won't let me flash the installer files.Comment

The standard Vanced for non-root devices works great, you just need to also install the add-on apk "Vanced MicroG" to be able to sign-in to your Google Account and get all your channel subscriptions and watchlists.Originally posted by mike808 View Post
First thing I do is uninstall the YouTube app that comes in the ROM, then install both Vanced and MicroG, then in app settings of Vanced you select Opening Links and choose to open "All Links" so if another app tries to send you to a YouTube link redirect then Vanced will be the app that opens the YouTube video.

Thanks, this worked great, I'm able to use Vanced on my TX6. I wonder why they make a different version for rooted devices when you can you the unrooted version for all devices, be it rooted or not. Hi There, i have been trying to recover a Tanix TX6 all weekend and would like to try the twrp method. Back up a working Tanix TX6 then restore the image to the blank box, if this is even possible.
I have found some very useful videos on youtube using twrp buit I can't even get that on the good box. I have downloaded your zip file but when I boot into recovery I dont get select update from USB, only sd or adb. Can you please tell me what im doing wrong .
