Any Luck Overclocking CS968 with MTK Chipset?

    Hello,
I am wondering as the title says, anyone manage to overclock the CS968 with MTK combo chip?
    I have 2 V5 boards and a V3 . Using the version 5 as a Guinea Pig (3188 T ) I have tried rkpatchomatic and managed to create something.But the kernels that I tried won't even boot.
I am using the latest Rom in Pincers thread ( http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...-Finally/page8 ) as a base for patching. I am not certain that I was using the correct memory table as none seem to be labeled as DDR .
Does anyone know why this does not work?
I have been hoping for someone with some knowledge to have done this, as well as a real 1080 Rom.
I would have thought that is should not be that tough to add MTK support to the Brodcom (ap6210)based rom......but I am just a NOOB!
Tech 1 are you having any luck with this chore? I see that you have been hinting that you may try this in the near future.
    I hope so....

Try kernel from this thread http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...rnels-for-All-
Choose MT7601* kernel. In this kernel doesn't work camera only.

In second message present modified Overclockomatic Script for KitKat kernels.

Would you please tell me what combination of ROM and Kernel you use for your CS968 device.

          Hello
I suspect that you want to hear from Frant but .....I'll give you my $.02 worth.
In general I find that the later Jelly Bean Roms in stock form just work, meaning almost everything that I can recall trying worked PROPERLY !!!
Kit Kat on the other hand does not seem so kind to our machines. I have tried most stock Roms (Rooted) and there always seems to be some issue. Here are some examples:
1 when browsing using various browsers suddenly you are taken to the home screen of the browser.
2 Hangouts does not work properly on any KK based Rom that I have tried (incoming audio "chipmunking" ,unusable incoming video)

The KK based Rom that I so far like best is the Quick Shot Rom for our box except for loss of BT and Wireless. Real 1080 + overclocking +Stable (Generally)....Thanks Team Nitro...
But as I said for everyday use with good functionality Jelly Bean is hard to beat...
Don't know if this helps, but I would like to hear others feedback of their experience with various Rom/Kernel combos as well!
          Thanks

Maybe starting new tread about ROM and Kernel combinations for CS 968 would be nice idea.

              Very good point.
I am not very adept on the subject ,but I agree that it should happen.
Have you tried the kernel that Frant has recommended?
              Thanks

                Hello
I tried as you have recommended. My machine just boot loops with Google TV and the start of MBOX rolling logo...
What have I done wrong ? I am using ROM from Pincers thread http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...Finally/page8: http://pan.baidu.com/s/1qWlsEgG (post 146)
Also tried other MTK kernels from the link that you suggested. No GO also

                  I have a CS968 v.5 PCB board with MTK 5931 wifi, MT6622 bluetooth module.

I'm using this firmware http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...-CUP-APP-READY with d33 kernel. Has many VideoLive applications, but I remove most of its. Kernel is from stock KK firmware. With d33 kernel doesn't work only camera. But HDMI signal work properly with my LG TV (with stock kernel HDMI connection lost constantly).

Also, very good firmware is "QuickShoT v3.1" http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...2Mpx-camera%29. But in this firmware doesn't work Wifi/bluetooth, present many overclocked kernels.

                    @Frant

Thank you very much for your answer. That is exactly what I would like to try also.
Would you please tell me briefly what procedure you usually do to install Tech1's ROM and especially D33's Kernel.

I use RKBatchTool 1.7 to install ROM, with Restore button, but I do not know how to put D33's kernel inside. It is not a big deal if camera does not work.

If firmware going in one big image file (such as Tech1 firmware), for reprogramming I use RKBatchTool--1.7.exe (via Restore button).

For change only kernel I use RKAndroidTool v.1.37 (https://www.dropbox.com/s/nad900oayq...v1.37.zip?dl=0), need choose kernel check box, set address 4000, choose kernel file and push "Run" button (see https://www.dropbox.com/s/gz25tq3wf5...dTool.jpg?dl=0 image).

I'm very interested in using the other kernel with the overclocked roms for my Mtk chipset. Any help would be great.

                              Hello
It apears your luck is the same as mine!
Does the location value for the kernel have to be changed in the RK tool from default?
Perhaps that is where our problem lies?
Let me know if you get it working!

                              Thanks.
