As fare as I read, it is an underclocked s600 1,5 GHz inside and you can overclock the snapedragon, but thats not the point.

You don't need it. The nexus 7 is really fast enough. Spare better your battery.
Before I want something to change, I have to find the failure first. :-) and I have the device since 4hours.

So I refund myself with a state of the art tablet. For once finally a device with the complete Google support.
It is the awesome nexus7 2013.:-)

I'm lucky with my new device.

I told to my sellers (****) to refund me half $ because its fraud to sell this item as is.

He refunded me 35 US$ and he explain to me that the T
"doens't have the power saving module" its only difference beween T and not T models (cf manufacturers)

?? If this is true, the T is the same except power saving module

My mk908v3's rk3188 doesn't boot at non-stock values. Maybe not all 3188 can be overclocked even if they passed testing...

    Dear d33,
But how then can you explain that I have been shown with 1,6 and 1.8Ghz using 4.2.2 wasser FW(ver.1.2.4) +Sam's overclocked kernes? In addition the stock 4.2.2 FW shows me 1.6Ghz too?

Install CPUZ and if you have 1.2GHz or 1.4GHz is it a "T" model for sure.
    or
Open the box if you see RK3188-T is a "T" model
    or for rooted rom
Dmesg if you see cpufreq: delete arm freq... its a "T" model
Not quite 100% true. Some of the original 'stock' KitKat kernels where fixed to 1.2 GHz for all.

I had tried to play with different FWs and kernels before. I could see 1704 and 1800 for CPU with sam's kernel, but it was something strange with GPU(mali_dfvs always showed me 446 max) and I had low enough 2D+3D AnTuTu scores.

I *WILL* still provide a kernel build that flags the processor and has an overide to 1.6GHz as a test once I get home but ...

I just re-read the KitKat kernel code and realised there are DMESG entries already in that will tell you if it is a T model.

If you are using a KitKat ROM (4.4.2) then the test will be to get either a custom built kitkat kernel or a patched stock one and check DMESG as soon as possible after boot. There will be messages of the following format if the processor is a 'T'.

    "cpufreq: delete arm freq (....)"

You may see the same messages in a jellybean (4.2.2) kernel too but I don't have sources for that

Yeah, with Kernel3 you can play1080, By the way, I use Netflix, showtime and HBO GO only.

Just install NEOMODE CUSTOM ROM MK809III AP6210 Version 1.9a with kernel3.img and you won't have any problem, because I have that too or you can install Android 4.4 KitKat Firmware by Finless Bob from UGOOS site
    Not so fast.
Note that geekbuying has revised the product description for the UM2 to include one little letter: T.
Buyers should not assume that their UM2, especially if purchased within the last few months, is a non-T cpu. Nor should you assume that any particular kernel & ROM combination will perform to the same level as anyone else's. At the moment, the only way anyone including el easy can definitively state that they have a non-T cpu is to open it up.

On the other hand, if el easy is offering a money back performance guarantee, I might go buy one.

cross-compile a kernel for rockchip platform, till now, just played with linux kernel on i386 platform. And I don't have a reliable kernel source tree with me, nor a good config file for my device...).
Thus, I was speaking about tricking a binary kernel image...

If you are going to build such a kernel, perhaps you could also try to build a version with enabled overclocking (cpu, gpu, ddr) for RK3188T... please?
do you speak about KiTkAt kernel ? or jelly bean
