Could someone have a look at the update image from the given link?

Is there a way the kit kat Rom from finless could work with it? Or is there any other ROM which should be compatible with my rk device? I started to unpack and root it with the provided unpack tool downloaded at the rockchipfirmware site. Its quite no problem but I would love to have the latest 4.4.2 Android working on my tablet. Any Idea which could be compatible? The stock ROM have one great feature. The whole user space is given for the apps. Something like 15gb or a bit more. With an emulated SD-Card. I love that feature. But on the other hand this ROM given by Trekstor is slow. Too slow for that kind of device. Like I asked, is there any way to port a KitKat ROM for my Device? There are lot of other guys there in Germany who would love to had a Kit Kat ROM for this rk3188 (I think) device. Is there maybe already a ROM? I would appreciate any help. I know my English isn't perfect but I hope its quite understandable.

I don't speak German...so can you post the download link to the firmware. Ill take a look for you.

I'm not sure about KitKat just yet...but maybe we can tweak the speed a little.

Thanks for the fast answer. When you scroll down to the buttom of the site there is given a update zip. I have no problem to understand english. Or did mean the language on the site? If thats so, then scroll down and you should see the update image. This is the original firmware. If i have to i could load it up on an one click hoster maybe but im quite not shure about that size. But if you wont find it i promise i'll find another way to provide the image. Thank you very much.

Yes...I was talking about the site being in German. I'm mobile right now, but when I get to a PC...I will look a little closer.

Give me some specs on the tablet. I need processor, amount of total NAND memory...and screen size and resolution.

OK, so I have the image.

From post #1, I understand that you have already rooted this firmware?

Do you need me to create a ROM from this firmware? I would be happy to.

I don't think I can port KitKat to this tablet since I don't actually have the tablet to test on. Believe me, porting KitKat is way more complicated than you think. I've tried and failed on tablets I own...to the point that I've bricked them. As more KitKat firmware releases are available, it might become easier to port...but understand that there are many components to a tablet ROM that are required...wifi, touch screen, bluetooth, screen rotation...etc.....

What would you like me to do with this?

BTW...which model is your tablet? The site shows several tablets. Is this firmware for ALL of their tablets?

Its kind of strange. When I install device info its saying my device is a rk30. But when I scroll down, there is more device info. I'll give you all the screens. I know it is not easy to port another version of android. Because of the drivers and the kernel when I understand it right.

I try to give you as much information as I can.

I hope this helps a little bit. What you downloaded is the original Firmware without Root Access. So its need to be rooted. Maybe you are able to speed it up because I think the hardware should be able to run this android version much more fluent as it actually
does. There must be some optimizations to run smoother. Maybe there is a way to customize it some way, you would do it with other Roms. The Bild apps are trash they can be deleted I think. There is no use for android itself. Everything which is not really needed can be deleted. I would love to have kit kat but I also know, its quite hard to realize. I understand that this is more harder when you don't have the device at your own. But maybe its possible to port a cm 10? Is there a way to realize this? I would help as much as I can. I have little skills but I read some threads and tried by myself. But I would be so happy if you could create me are more smoother ROM. If you need more info just ask. I'll give you the answers as soon as possible. Thank you so much.

My device is called Volkstablet. But thats only the name given by the company. I hope the screens could provide the information needed. If more information is needed I'll find more. Believe me I do not think it is easy to port a kit kat ROM. I wanted to know if one of the ports which existing here would be compatible. When I understood right is the problem the one with the drivers for the components. And the kernel needs to be upgraded? The tablet have a quad core CPU, 2gb of Ram, 16 GB NAND, and quad core graphics called mali-400 I think.

I've seen the screens are the same ;-( The resolution is 1366x768. THat is what's missing on the screens.

It's hard to believe they don't have a different firmware link for each model. Surly all of these tablets don't run the same firmware. That would be cool if it is true, but I can't see how that is possible. The kernel has to be made specifically for each screen resolution...and other differences in hardware.

Yes, think you are right. I think there are three devices which are similar to mine. They just have other prices and other names. As I know, my device was the first case a firmware update was needed. The community was not satisfied with their first version. I'm not really satisfied with this one at all like much other people. We have a cmw if this helps. Is there a way to integrate it in the update image? I've asked for permission. I tried it but it failed. I got bootloop. Are you able to integrate it to the ROM? Then I could provide the link. Thanks for interest.
