help, bricked U4K in 10 minutes!

Well, ws adjusting speed in Kernel Tuner, was surprised in went to 1.4G.
Did not even click apply it just hanged.
Next reboot, blue light for 30s, then turn red. No HDMI out.
    Next reboot is the same...
PhoenixSuit doesn't see it and putting update.img on SD doesn't help either.

    Ideas? where are "reset" pins?

Well, after manual copy of driver from android sdk and reboot, OS and PhoenixSuit suit started to see device, still no boot. So I've tried to flash
    A31_sun6i_android_mars-b4k_4.2_20131127_gc2035.img ( b4k ok for u4k?)
It went through without error. However after reboot blue lights stays on for 30 seconds and unit turns off.
No activity on HDMI. I'm guessing boot fails.
Now even OS or PhoenixSuit doesn't see device again :-(

Well, I've tried to put a31s_sun6i_android_mars_ov5460_2-1312-3_.img on flash use PhoenixDisk 3.09.
But it doesn't look like U4K boots from it.
I've tried 2,8 and 16GB SD cards using either Production or Startup modes with the same zero results.
I suspect PD 309 creates images wrong, when I open SD it is empty, unless it is in different format.

Here is the solution to your problem. I also mentioned somewhere that U4K is not crossflashable with B4K.

      Good luck

Arrrgghhh - someone with an unflashed U4k yesterday that we could have got the original ROM from. Now gone.

If there is anyone reading this with an original U4K I'd love to get you to dump the stock ROM for us. Please reply

Your efforts are so much appreciated. How about creating a new thread to find someone with the stock fw?

Cool thanks! One step further, shorting the pins let the light stay on, I'm guessing its not booting from ROM,
however it's not booting from SD either, just stays blue forever.
              Using a31s_sun6i_android_mars_ov5460_2-1312-3_.img f/w
Trying different cards with PhCard 309. Is there way to check if flash is correct in Win or Linux?

Yahoo, 8GB card did the trick, from second reflash!
Back in biz, no Wifi though.
Any other image other then a31s_sun6i_android_mars_ov5460_2-1312-3_.img could work?

                    try this one

read the thread for changelog though

That would be great if you could help us with the unflashed device. Let me or d33 know when you get your second unit.

Worst case would be to get root and then execute a series of "cat"s for each partition from terminal emulator. I'll create a script.

There is also supposed to be a ROMDUMP apk which would be perfect but I've yet to look for it properly.

The device comes prerooted. So, only the terminal to install.

Adb to device works... so no need for terminal.
