CS918S no signal or video output - please help!

Hmm i also.. did many firmware updates
-however i never used the 'recovery button'
--it seems livesuit auto reboots the system in 'flash mode' after hitting the upgrade button (it seems)

I think.. the recovery button is only needed when android.. no-longer boot(s)

Second question - is it possible to do a ROM firmware back-up. Is there an application I should use like Phoenix suite ? I have also seen references to using code to do this - which leads to my final question

Is there a means of communicating with the box using a terminal via telnet, ssh or ftp or whatever ? If so what application should I use and are there any passwords I need to use eg. to access root ?

No.. currently there no way to backup

If you desire : ftp-server / terminal / ssh / vnc-server / dlna / firewall /vpn client / ...
Then you need to install it.. it doesn't come pre-installed
-but it can be easily installed/setup using google-market

The cs918s came pre-rooted (atleast mine did)
Firmware 1.2 is not rooted.. however you can easily get root.. using tools found in thread/post firmware v1.2
-note.. i see no benefits between using v1 or v1.2

cs918s new after turning off takes many attempts to turn it on

No panic. Try to reflash it using PhoenixSuit.

1. Download it from here.
2. Install and update to the last version.
3. Select the firmware image in Firmware tab (dowload image here).
4. Connect CS918s (microUSB) to PC (USB) while keeping the recovery button pressed on your CS918s. You should hear the sound of the recognized device by windows. Then release the button.
5. You'll see the green upgrade progress bar started.
6. It takes 3.5-4 min. Once over, disconnect the unit. You're ready to go.

Hello there, i just recieved my cs918s, it works fine, but after turning it off i have to do on off several times to get the blue light otherwise only button lightens, before buying i asked them to delete chinese apps so they did, one day it worked fine second day this happens, now my question is the device okay or will it stop working after some times because what if one day i switch on off several time but it doesnt turn on that is my concern any suggestions, also the first time it happened i used the reset button

Upgrade to the newest firmware. I haven't had that issue since. April 1st

Is this reply for me, any possibilities of issues, I mean I read some where that camera,might not work,
I have another problem that it plays too much lagging videos on xbmc I dont know why, my wifi speed is 2mb per sec

Hello sir, please could u help me, m cs918s 5mp gives no sgnial on hdmi from second day so i have to off on several times then it starts sometimes it wont, my problem is i wanto upgrde firmware when i use this. App phoenix usb pro, and connect while pressing the button below and connecting on micro usb ,i hear the sound but notging happens on the screen of tge app.. as if it doesnt recognize, what am i doing wrong, isit because of first point on the app that is install usb hub, if thats the prob what does it mean, my usb debugging is checked

Sir i have done all of that computer recognizes but shows driver installation screen which is not able to install nothing happens on usb pro, i feel like crying cuz now its not turning on after even 50 tries , i want to uncheck debugging but its not turnng on, i dont wangt to send it back but mothing seems like working, the light gets blue after connecting tto phonix usbpro sometimes does not but either ways nothing happens :'(

Taajan thank u for all ur help, turns out that debug mode was the problem, after several tries the device turned on and then i unchecked debugging which helped the drivers to install when i connected my device and as soon asthe drivers installed the phoenixpro started it work now the device works perfect me so happy , :-) thank God i wont bother u now

I have just received new CS918S box, I am having the same problem as discussed in this thread and need your help. I have 5 years hold LCD tv and getting no signal or video output using HDMI and TV out ports. I flashed it to latest firmware as well but still no luck. It works fine on the latest TV I have.

Can some one please help me here to resolve this issue as I need to hookup this box to old tv. I tried changing different display resultions as well.
