Are those any of the pins or is it under the heatsink. Looks like the heatsinks soldered on

      Cheers

I'm still not really sure what device I have yet.

It must be under the heatsink then? Theres nothing like that showing.
I'll need to get a hold of a soldering iron in the next couple of day to de solder it from the board.

Does your PC recognize the device at all? If so, use RK Batch Tool v2.1 and select Erase Flash; that will put it into Mask ROM mode and allow you to proceed with a flash.

                  The fix

Right i managed to fix it by shorting pins 7 and 8 i think. I had to short pins 7 and 8 whilst plugging in the male to male from device to pc and plugging in the mains power cable all at the same time. i had to get my girlfriend to help me as its a lot to do at the one time. Also took me a couple of attempts.

You have to take off the metal shield on the back that covers a couple of chips. I did this by using some nail clippers. Once its off you should see the image below.

Pins 7 and 8 are marked in red.

So all you have to do is short those pins with a pin or something whilst plugging in the male to male in the pc and plug in the power cable and you should be sorted.

Little tip always clear idb before installing a new rom and you will have less chance of bricking it again.

                  Cheers
