sorry if I misunderstood something, but, believe me, the words as U have written them could have been easily misunderstood... Since this seems not to be the case, I do apologize.

I am also very happy because it means that everything is ok and no "damage" has been done

Actually it never hurts to repeat once again that this rom is temporarly "out of service" because of the above mentioned problems, and that the download link is not working, since it has been taken offline because of said problems, and the rom will likely be available again in some time, when every problem will have been solved.

Well, I found out the reason for the black screen on boot, and it has nothing to do with my ROM building techniques.

This firmware IS NOT for the M8HD tablet. It is the same firmware I've been using to make the M6 Pro ROM. I compared the two, and they are exactly the same. So, no wonder it won't work on the M8HD.

Somehow, this release got published as an M8HD test ROM, but in actuality...it's for the M6 Pro.

I deeply apologize for the inconvenience I've put some people through testing a ROM like that.

I even downloaded it twice, thinking I got things mixed up...since I was working on both ROM's at the same time...but no...the second download was the M6 Pro ROM, too.

Looks like we need to ask Anna for the right firmware, or wait for one to appear.

I have odd bug with the 1.3.1 version, for example the wallpaper reverts back to default almost eveytime I reboot. This is really annoying and I have no apps to blame on this one. Kit Kat seems to be very smooth on the 1.4 even though the flickering issue makes it unusable.

Does the 1.5a RileyROM work with M8HD or not?

From the many messages above about black screen and so on, together with your lines quoted above, I could guess it is not..

Again I beg your pardon, but I really lost myself...

I mean: the M8HD 1.4 ROM was a beta KK rom, not official (there were rumors the original firmware was a "ported" version from another model) and with quite serious problems about batteries and charge and discharge... and the site only displays the latest ROM of 30/10/2013....

I stand corrected. I created this page when I thought this was a working firmware for the M8HD.

As it turned out, the firmware I used was for the M6 Pro, which isn't compatible.

1.4 is the last working ROM. I've taken the link down to this one.

When I get a working firmware for the M8HD, I will update the ROM.

OK, gottcha.....looks like 1.3 is the best ROM to use ATM.

As soon as there is a working KitKat firmware, I will post an update.
