Testing

So far, so good (24 hours). Thanks for this great rom . Using Just XBMC apk. on it. Rooted. Very fast.

What works:

-OTG works as USB
-sound settings stay remembered
-DTS, AC3 work on passthrough-spidf
-very good ethernet. speed, pretty much the max speed the X7 is capable.(95-100Mbps download---30-40Mbps upload
-good wireless speeds on 5GHz channel (27-35Mbps down----20-26Mbps up)
-no self reboots or blockages in 24 hours.
-all video files play smoothly even big 10-15GB mkv. (external HDD cable connected to the player with Macintosh HFS partition mounted via Paragon NTFS-HFS) Didn't get the chance to try a blue ray iso.
-no problems with playback on 1920x1080-60

What doesn't work:

-Skype doesn't work. It crashes when I try to make a call.

If this is work in progress, I can't wait to see the final release.

Hi HWG,

first thank you very much for this wonderful ROM. After about 8 hours flashing and testing all other ROMS and get allways the same issue: if I activated SPDIF in XBMC the video playback has stocking every 2 sec. I find yours. And its awesome!

Tested build in your ROM xbmc minix edition:

Optical SPDIF Passtrought XBMC with Yamaha RX-V550 + 5.1 Soundsystem.
DTS/ AC3 / Dolby all work fine and the video playback mkv 720p / 1080p is realy SMOOTH!!!
HDMI MODE is 1920x1080p


OMG I still can't believe it.

Still no SPDIF Passthrough

I am getting desperate. I have tried different settings with every possible Rom (Stock 009 and Pre-010, HWG.04aR1, Quickshot.V2 and now HWG.04c) hoping that the last one would solve my problem.

I even switched cables to make sure the problem is not in a cable.

My settings are identical to the ones shown on mrosys' screenshots. When trying to play any multichannel video the receiver identifies it as mulichanel (multichanel led is on and 5.1 is shown on the display) but there is no sound coming out of the speakers.
2 channel files play normally.

I have been using the receiver with Xtreamer Sidewinder for several years without any issues decoding AC3 and DTS files.

Any idea where the problem might be?

Try switching to rk hdmi and back to passthrough. Otherwise i wont have a clue as it should work.

Also, i am wondering if this is happening with EVERY file u have.

.mkv and .avi ? if this happens only with one file, we can assume that the file is faulty or simply not working with ur current setup for whatever reason.

But if all other mkv files with 5.1 surround (be it AC3 or DTS streams) then the ROM and other hard/software is ok and working.

i would like to help since i had many problems also, (my own fault).

so please make screen shots of settings, give version numbers and hardware names.\use google drive or something for pictures.

I tried that and it did not work. Too bad. Apart from that X7 is a very good device and your ROM is the best.

Yes, I tried all different mp4, avi, mkv files. The ones with DD 5.1 simply did not work when Passthrough was selected. All with just two channels work perfectly.
When I select only Rockchip-SPDIF (no Passthrough) then I get sound but only 2 front channels.

Please could you be more specific as to what screenshots I should take?

in one picture it says "error, no devices found" dont worry this is a glitch in the rom, it works fine actually. it should say android, audiotrack(PT) in BOTH lines!

In XBMC set the PT in both lines. Also try to switch under system settings from pt to spidf, like hwg it says and reboot your device.

your settings seem perfect IF u have a TOSLINK cable from MINIX to your RECEIVER. A least, i do believe that u need a TOSLINK cable with these kind of settings. HDMI from minix to receiver will not work like this.

also HDMI from minix to TV and then a TOSLINK from TV to receiver will also not work i think. It may work though, but it did not on my tv.

and why does your android resolution settings say 1920x1008 ? should be 1080.

all other settings are 100% correct

Yes, trough optical cable from Minix to receiver and through HDMI from Minix to TV.

In system settings I switched from passtrough to spidf, rebooted and then back to passtrough but did not help.

I think I ran out of options here.
