Beta HWG ( NEO X7 only! )

Ok guys,

As some asked to make a beta test before release:
I ask only NEO X7 users to test it.
At the moment i am working on Malipatch 04c.

Things that needs testing are on the 04c are:

- Audio settings remember status at reboot/sleep in any config.
- Audio Passthrough both hdmi/spdiff ( should work )
- Playback using all hdmi fps options ( 24/25/30/50/60 fps @1080p depending on the screens )
1080p@24 fps is recomended but probably other options will work too now.
- wifi/eth speeds ( please use ookla: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...peedtest&hl=nl )

When you like to test it and give some feedback please report in detail:
- Detailed settings description.
- Also include what works good.
- When found a bug: the steps to reproduce.
- When solved: steps to solve it.
When you are able to share screenshots it will be appreciated.

Did play alittle with this ROM today!

So far all sound is good ( can only test HDMI )
Setting is saved and box remember it on restart. ( HDMI Passthroug )
Sound is good DD5.1 - no "pops" - DTS is still good.
Playback seems fine, did test 720P with dd5.1 and dts
1080P is also fine testet with DTS ( XBMC ) (13/3/14)
HDMI mode: 1080P 50hz

Streaming from "viaplay" - nordic app i guess is broken, did work on your first version of 04 ( And that is the first rom I have seen it running on! )
Netflix is working out of the box! ( info added 12/3/14)
Not using WIFI, but LAN is the same as the stable 04.

Only "little" problem seems to be streaming, but anyway I remember you did say that in another thread..

Oh yes, I use JustXBMX for passthrough as Minix version is not patched, I did have some random shutdowns. And Google Play did close 4-5 times while updating apps..

Edit: "Connect to PC" didnt work here. Would try it to make root, but no connection, only connection I can get is if I do flash ROM.. ( Bootloader i guess ?)

Thanks for the feedback!. The rom is a pre 05. The viaplay will be solved in this rom too as also the hls streaming. Good to know you had otg isues.. i think i made an error in the boot .rc files. I got something to do again will do some bug fixes in a few days. ( got some bussy days ahaed ) thanks for your feedback!

well... at least not 100%...

UPDATE:
I came a bit closer today. i discovered that when I set audio in Guru_X7_1080p_preloaded_04_malipatch_public ROM to RK29_rk5615&ROCKCHIP SPDIF,
I only get LOUD monotoom static in BEYONDXBMC.
(this is without the rockchip update of 326MB that keeps nagging me)

When using ROCKCHIP only, in audio settings, i get working DTS/5.1 sounds in beyondxbmc and XBMC Minix Edition, with passthrough optical/SPDIF, but it is stuttering/ticking a bit. Very annoying.
Same thing when using HDMI in BeyondXBMC and XBMC Minix Edition!

UPDATE:
I just installed the ROM from first post, still the exact same problem.
Stuttering with rockchip only and loud static when using RK29_rk5615 & ROCKCHIP SPDIF

Also:

Sound is remembered.
HDMI resolutions working all settings
WIFI speeds is 25 - 30 Mbit/s (i have 100/100 Mbit fiber and DIR-655 router)

EDIT:

Made an error! i could actually scroll down FURTHER in sound settings of android.
I had 2 more options, including SPDIF PASSTHROUGH, everything works 100% now !

Thanks for this great rom! Everything seems to run fine, except one thing:
Is anything changed regarding bluetooth profiles? I get rather low quality sound (minor but audible distortions) with my bluetooth headphones. With other X7 roms or my other Android devices sound quality is noticeably better.

Optical SPDIF Passtrought works! This is the first ROM that worked for me.

Hi HWG,

first thank you very much for this wonderful ROM. After about 8 hours flashing and testing all other ROMS and get allways the same issue: if I activated SPDIF in XBMC the video playback has stocking every 2 sec. I find yours. And its awesome!

Tested build in your ROM xbmc minix edition:

Optical SPDIF Passtrought XBMC with Yamaha RX-V550 + 5.1 Soundsystem.
DTS/ AC3 / Dolby all work fine and the video playback mkv 720p / 1080p is realy SMOOTH!!!
HDMI MODE is 1920x1080p

Day 2 HWG ROM:
