I had the same problem, first choose your audio setting (I use passtrought for my hdmi) then reboot. Go to setting/apps xbmc for minix erase cache and data, force stop then start XBMC. I don't know but xbmc seem to keep old sound setting so I have to force a setup to correct the sound issue. Hope it work.

Receiver compatibility issue

OK, I seem to have found the problem. Not the solution, though.

Most of my files are DD5.1. These were the ones I mainly focused on when trying to figure out the problem.
Now, after I have played several DTS files they were played perfectly!

I found a 19-pages thread describing the problem. It seems that some receivers cannot play the AC3 stream Minix produces. The thread is in xbmc section but it seems to be rather a general problem:

An interesting thing is that my other device (Xtreamer Sidewinder) plays the same DD5.1 files on the same receiver flawlessly.

So I guess I will need to wait until this is fixed as I do not plan to buy a new receiver :-).

Hmm, ok, that is interesting. So DTS files play fine. but DD5.1 files are distorted, because they are AC3 ?

Yes, any DTS movies play without any problems.
For Dolby Digital movies there is no sound coming out of the speakers (actually both, 2.0 and 5.1).

If you mark sound to all speakers and all codec options in XBMC adio settings you chould have 2.1 on DD streams.
Please check if that works.

No, I can only get any Dolby Digital files to play when chosing analog output. Then I get 2.0 sound.
SPDIF passthrough just does not work for me.

1. I have "Auto check update" set to 0, but it write sometimes on my screen: The current version is latest!
How I can disable it?

2. How I can play flash video from web in really full screen? I have on my screen black borders.

seems like i has the same issue as i had on Quickshot v2 during movies playback , it lose sound for few secods time to time...any way how to fix it? or where could be the issue?
