If I can figure out how to make it work on one of my devices, making adjustments for other devices should be fairly simple.

Next7P12-8G Tablet:

SMT-Next7P12-8G-NXM727MC_WM-082313-8188eu_wifi.zip using lsmod
command as you suggested and this is the one that matched my
wifi.
I backed up my tablet using TWRP and then installed the modified
rom: SMT-Next7P12-8G-NXM727MC_WM-082313-8188eu_wifi.zip.
It installed without any problems and the tablet booted into the
system. WiFi is working and it seemed that everything was working,
until I went to access the tablet with my PC. My computer would not
recongnize the tablet. I used the command lsusb and did not show up
in the listing. I moved it to another usb port, same problem. Used
another PC, same problem.
I reinstalled the rom with TWRP, same problem.
You mentioned that the installer dumps the current rom to
the external sdcard, however the rom dump did not show up
on the root of the external sdcard or internal sdcard.
Also, when in TWRP recovery I still get this output:
E: unable to mount '/emmc'
E: updating partition details...
E: unable to mount internal storage
E: unable to mount /emmc during GUI startup
E: unable to mount '/emmc'
I don't know if it means anything, but maybe it will give you
a clue.
I restored my backup rom and everything is working: WiFi, I am able
to access the tablets internal and external sdcards with my PC.
What is going wrong with the modified rom:
SMT-Next7P12-8G-NXM727MC_WM-082313-8188eu_wifi.zip
I cannot say. I just thought you would like to know for
your own interest.
Thanks Again! For all of your great work with these Nextbook Amlogic Tablets.

It suspect the reason the tablet isn't showing up on the computer as removable media is because I changed the default USB connection type to ADB, although I tried to do it in a way that would enable both ADB and USB mass storage modes. I'll have to look into this again and do some testing to see what works with the different config options available.
The backup most likely failed because the SD cards weren't mounted correctly in recovery.
I believe I previously posted a new copy of TWRP that corrected the mounting errors.
Please re-download TWRP again from here and let me know if you still get the mounting errors:

Next7P12-8G ROMs Have Been Updated
Both versions of the Next7P12-8G ROMs have been updated to correct a conflict between ADB and Mass_Storage settings which prevented the internal and external SD card partitions from being mountable when connected to a PC via USB.
Thanks to FreakTab user GJPete5580 for reporting this issue!
All users are advised to redownload and reflash using the links in the Original Post.

Hello! ShaunMT
I downloaded the revised (7-24-2014) modified stock rom for my
Next7P12-8G Tablet:
SMT-Next7P12-8G-NXM727MC_WM-082313-8188eu_wifi.
I backed up my tablet using TWRP and then installed the revised
modified rom: SMT-Next7P12-8G-NXM727MC_WM-082313-8188eu_wifi.zip.
It installed without any problems and the tablet booted into the
system. WiFi is working and everything seems to be working OK,
including accessing the tablets internal and external sdcards with
my PC.
The new splash screens are pretty cool! Thank You!
Oh! by the way there is one other problem I am having with ny
tablet. I downloaded the revised TWRP Recovery file for my
Next7P12-8G Tablet and it outputs the following:
E: updating partition details...
E: Failed to mount eternal storage, using internal storage.
I am not sure if that is a real problem or not, because
as I reported in an earlier post, when I try to swipe to backup
it will not respond. It will not swipe it just wont respond
to my touch and swiping to the right. Other buttons react the
same way, they won't respond to my touch and when I try to
rename my backup it goes to a new screen but then instantly
pops back to the previous screen.
So, I had to revert to using the TWRP Recovery file: SMT_TWRP_Next7P12-4G-POM727MC_1G.zip
as I done before for my Next7P12-8G Tablet and it works. I was able to backup my tablet
and then flash the revised modified stock ROM.
I do get the following output with this TWRP Recovwey:
E: unable to mount '/emmc'
E: unable to recreate android secure folder.
E: unable to mount '/emmc'
E: unable to mount '/emmc'
E: unable to mount '/emmc'
E: updating partition details...
E: unable to mount internal storage
E: unable to mount /emmc during GUI startup
E: unable to mount '/emmc'
I am not concerned all that much with a rom dump, because I have one from
when I first bought my tablet.
Again, I just thought you would like to know for
your own interest.
So, I am quite satiisfied with being able to backup, restore, and flash new
roms. Perhaps now I can start to do some experimenting with this tablet knowing
that I have a few backup roms to restore to.
Thanks Again! Your great work with these Nextbook Amlogic Tablets
is much appreciated!

Thanks again for the feedback.
I'm glad to know that you can once again access the internal and external storage from a PC via USB.
I'm not sure what the problem causing the remaining issue with TWRP is... I'll take another look and try comparing it to the one I made for the 4G. Maybe I've still got a bad mount path or something.

I have the nextbook 8 with the WMN board
It sounds like you need to do a factory reset and wipe data and cache... I'd probably erase the internal SD card also.
These tablets frequently suffer from corrupted partitions following a flash, even though everything is wiped during the install. I've found that doing an extra wipe after flashing almost always prevents or fixes this issue.

Well, I tinkered with it and finally got it to work. I tried wiping everything, but got errors when trying to wipe delvik and when trying to do the factory reset option. So I wiped everything else except the sd and it started working properly.
Thank you for the support, I am currentlyaattending University of Phoenix working on my AA in software engineering. Hopefully soon I will be on the other side of this conversation.
