True, but that is still an MK908, not an MK908II (or MK908III), which is a different unit. So, this is the right ROM for your MK908 device. I also have the v3 board MK908 like you and this ROM worked just fine on it. Although, the first one I got from GB (many moons ago) died during flashing, and they replaced it after we couldn't revive it.

I did see a MK809III on GB but it's a different chip (3066). There was also a v5 board for the MK908, I understand, and just received one of those (yesterday) and will be installing this ROM on it shortly (by tomorrow).

I installed this on my mk908III using the 1080 kernels but the output is still only 720p. Does anybody else have this issue?

Does this improve the wifi on mk908 v5? Mine doesn't have an external antenna and the wifi isn't working too well.

Disable bluetooth and position it so that the case faces direction to your rooter. Wifi is quite picky on these devices and does interfere with bluetooth a lot unfortunately...

Guys, can I use this firmaware on Tronsmart NX with 5MP camera? I can't find frimware for my device. Camera always has error "cannot conect to camera" and wifi doesn't work

Sorry, the location in the apk is \res\drawable-mdpi\pointer_arrow.png
If this is not the pointer you see, i am out of ideas.

Thats easy, you need to change the pointer png. In /system/framework/frameowrk-res.apk in there is a folder /res/mdpi/ and in there is the file that needs to be changed. Use 7zip to do so.

I try that but in framework-res.apk only have one carpet with mdpi: mipmap-mdpi carpet and don't have the pointer_arrow.png image I check all carpets and I found in drawable-hdpi carpet the pointer_arrow.png file but it's the stock pointer mouse not the one that show when I use mouse. Any idea?

Compatible Generic/Off-Brand/Unbranded MK908 Clone?

Does anyone know how to best identify an after-Tronsmart, generic, off-brand, cloned compatible MK908?

Geekbuying no longer lists the Tronsmart MK908, and I need another one (perhaps 2) of these (first one to replace my Popcorn Hour box). I've found some listed here or there (****, Alibaba, Newegg, etc.) as MK908, but none of them have responded with enough details to suggest that I can absolutely load this Finless ROM on it. How can I help them easily give me that info (i.e., the board info and/or info from Android screen?)? I understand from reading the forums it needs to have the same hardware, especially bluetooth/wi-fi, but they only list that it exists, and that it has the RK3188 and Mali GPU. Externally, it looks the same (without Tronsmart name) complete with 2GB sticker, and the mini-pc and quad-core A9 processor info, often with the honeycomb bee on it.

Yes, I've tried searching this forum and FreakTab forums and on the internet without success, but I won't guarantee that the info doesn't exist, just that I can't find it. ;-) And it appears to me that the MK908 still is the best RK3188 implementation overall; I haven't jumped to the RK3288, but that may be where I go if I have to.
