        I don't know what MINIX mean with 'different spec.' but there also exist 'S802-B (S802D) with Dolby-Digital but not DTS HW-Decoding' and it seems so, that the S802-B will never be place to the market, but why, if it is really only a software-patch that will be needing to enable that feature?
        And at 4PDA one guy (in February or so on), which seems to have good contacts to Amlogic, and like we see at the moment for the Vega, wrote, that the first Bulk of 802 SoC's are only without HW-Decoding for DD and DTS...
        So at the moment every argument is against the speculation of a software-patch...

          At least it is possible to see DD/DTS options in settings by adding to build.prop:
          ro.platform.support.dolby=true
          ro.platform.support.dts=true
          But... Still no sound

            I don't know if seeing those seeting mean that you can decode by hardware (not by software) DD/DTS

                            I am satisfied with my s89-h since last weekend. I have to mention that I have some flashing skills and did not expect a luxury out of the box experience. Also my life didnt depend from a one day to another delivery. Geekbuyings delivery via dhl felt very fast for me .

                            Im using finless 1.6 and happy till now everything works fine .

                            Nevertheless I would be interested in comparing with the minix 8-h side by side.
