10b G3 ROM DUMP wanted! - Success! Thanks Alley!

    OK so far Alley's stock ROM dump is newer AND different than Kasty stock ROM.

    I unpacked system IMG of the kasty stock ROM and then unpacked Alley's ROM dump.
    Using a linux file compare tool, MOST of the files in system are different than Kasty ROM. Not just file dates but they do NOT compare either. Kasty stock ROM the file dates are 2012-03-30. On Alley's ROM the dates are 2012-04-06. But again regardless of the file dates, the files are different.

    So,.... Looks like Arnova snuck a ROM release out on later 10 G3 tablets!
    Or maybe Kasty had a pre-release tablet?

    Now I am going to compare the kernel's and see if they are different. Stay tuned.

      And finally. The kernel is a newer build date than Kasty.

      Kasty kernel build date = Thu Mar 29 2012

      Alley's dump is = Sat Apr 7 2012

      It is also very different all over the place in the kernel. So it is not just some subtile changes from what I can tell using KDIFF and a hex editor.

      Regardless I cannot blame Kasty here. Arnova is to blame for having TWO releases of a ROM with NO WAY TO TELL what you have in the version information on the screen! AND NOT SUPPLYING THE UPDATE ON THIER WEB SITE!!!!!!!!
      That is just BS if you ask me. I run a team of software developers and WE NEVER make any changes to code without rolling the version of the final build.

      Arnova are you listening? For users you need to roll the software versions AND tell people what has changed! I mean COME ON... thats simple basic code development stuff. Are you even CM compliant or ISO complaint? Sheesh

        Everyone should thank you for the ROM when I release it as without you it would not have happened!

          I know I am on a posting "chain" here but this is exciting for me

          Mr. Weeler, I would love to also get a DUMP from yours and compare it to see if Arnova snuck out yet another version! Since you just got yours today it's possible?
