Tronsmart S89 STOCK ROMs (100k4) in ZIP update format

OK folks, I finally figured out how to make a complete ROM in ZIP format from the stock .img ROM.
That is NO FLASH TOOL needed to flash a complete ROM on the S89!
It has been converted to ZIP format you can update from SDcard.
This is completely STOCK. No root or anything.

You Windows 8.1 folks that cant get drivers install should now be happy!

I kind of hate the flash tool anyway and should really only be used to unbrick!

I have noticed that the Readme First file refers to the file tronsmart_s89e_finless12.zip

In option 1, step 2, it appears to be a typo and probaly should be tronsmart_stock_s89xxx.zip instead

2) Click the select button and it should list the file tronsmart_s89e_finless12.zip. Select it.

Yep typo.... I modded the instructions from my 1.2 ROM to make the stock ZIP and missed that one.
It will have to stick that way as I am not going to re-upload it just for a typo.

I did not convert it! I flashed it then dumped the ROM from the device. Then spent a hell of a lot of time converting a raw EXT4 system into the files and then the edify script to recreate the system from the files. Trust me I would prefer to be able to unpack the IMG file than do that again!

I would like to take two steps:
1) Use your ZIP-File together with SD-Card to install the original Stock ROM from Tronsmart
2) Use the custom ROM ZIP-File to install the Finless ROM

Could you please confirm, that these are the right steps to apply your custom ROM?

DO NOT install the S89 firmware on your M8. It will brick you!
The bootloader is different and thus will not work.

Now I did get it to work on the M8 by not flashing the bootloader. Hint Hint.....

Do you know how to make and sign zip packages? If not, then I wont be able to help you. It would take 80 pages to explain it all. Later I plan to start a AML development thread on how to make zip package and edit edify scripts.

In a nut shell you unpack the ZIP and delete the bootloader.img.
Then go into the META folder and edit the updater-script to remove the lines that flash bootloader.
When done you use update creator tool to make and sign the modified ZIP.

It's NOT the "square" device like shown here:


It's a round device, that looks exactly like the S89 Vega from Tronsmart:

I did not know about this one. I assumed the M8 tomato.
Since I have no way to test this beelink unit I cannot give you an answer.
