I can comment on passthrough. I have a MK808 and a Rikomagic MK802-IIIS-B. I flashed latest available Nov 2013 Geekbuyers firmware on the MK808 and latest available Ricomagic firmware on the MK802-IIIS-B. The MK808 shows 2 options in the settings for audio soundmanager: Rockchip HDMI and Rockchip HDMI 5POINT1 Multichannel. I couldn't get multichannel audio output to work with that setting, sound was still stereo PCM. On the MK802-IIIS-B there is a third option: Rockchip HDMI Passthrough. With that option I have true multichannel sound for AC3 and DTS soundtracks. I want to cook some firmwares now using the MK802-IIIS-B kernel.
