OK so it appears the 5g wifi issue is not in /system. I just compared the old ROM to the new ROM and all the wifi files, drivers, etc are the same. So it's not that they left out drivers.

It appears the new kernel they made they left something out!

So anyone want to help me test a fix? I do not have a standard and thus cannot test the 5g wifi. But what I can do is make a update.zip that flashed the old kernel. If 5g wifi then works we know what the problem is.

What this is going to do it flash the old kernel from the previous ROM release.
/system remains the same!

Let me know if 5g wifi and BT work.

FYI, the Beelink M8 firmware and this tronsmart firmware is identical except for logo.img.
Same kernels and dates!

So you wont see any performance difference between the 2 ROMs.

Pretty sure the problem with the Standard new ROM and 5g/BT is the kernel!
It appears they forgot and packaged the Elite kernel with the Standard ROM. It has a different date stamp between the 2 but the version is #1. On the old ROM Elite had version #1 and Standard had version #2.

So 2 posts up if you standard guys with no 5G wifi or BT on the new ROM can flash that old kernel, we will know for sure!

Does the stock XBMC run quite slow for anyone else in the recent updated image?

For example I have roughly 300 channels and bringing up the EPG takes an unusable amount of time (5 minutes), the channel list appears to be ok and I'm straight in there, I do understand this is less data to load.

I'll be rooting and installing later nightlies in the coming days, but for now I am only using the standard ROM from factory.
