Aluminium 205 W/m°C (light and cheap)
Copper 400W/m°C (but expensive and difficult to make)
Steel 45 W/m°C (heavy metal )
Why to use steel?

Some boxes, speakers hdd etc., emit strong electromagnetic fields, so the steel provides a small measure of protection. Could be weight factor too.
Also on M8, I put a thin bit of tape on the front lighted triangular plastic to hide the blue light and remote stopped working. Every little makes a difference sometimes. Anyone wanting better remote pickup: remove the triangular white plastic.
